Help I can't walk
Many glitches in this series have been fixed. Pathfinding abilities are much improved from the original. This is taken care of by something called bumping This means that the characters will move aside for friendly units to get by, so no more baby-sitting of units hopefully. Multi-player has also been graced with the ablilty to move about while other people carry on separate conversations! God bless. Unless it is a truly important conversation the rest of the party is free to do as they wish.
Another addition will be more intelligent enemies. Before, you used to be able to run into an area, fight till you got the tar almost completely beaten out of you, and then hightail it out of the screen, out of harm's reach. These new baddies will follow you everywhere. You go through a door and expect to be safe, don't come cryin' to me.
Lion oooooo
Gaping jaws of doom
Graphics
Speaking of monsters, they looked fantastic. These things range from downright tiny to the ultra-massive. Golems and beholders were quite a sight to see. We didn't quite get to see the very large animals, but rest assured some of them will be B I G. Magical attacks look pretty darn good now. The pics we have should show some off some pretty fancy stuff. Even the locales are pretty spruced up. Check out those chompers in one of the pictures.
Character classes are also far more diverse than they were before. While some classes have been removed, the number choices has not diminished at all, since each class now has multiple sub-classes to choose from. A new race has also been added, the half-orc. Along with these additions, new creatures have been added, my favorite being the cute Beholder. You just have to love those little guys. Such friendly eyes. Other additions include familiars that can be trained by rangers.
BG2 is due out a little after mid-year, so keep your eyes peeled.
Till then, or till something more substantial comes out we have a few bits of eye candy for you. So have fun looking at the pics, as they are well worth the wait.
