A Doomed World
RTS gamers love futuristic, apocalyptic settings where all stops are pulled. Total Annihilation, StarCraft, Brood War and the C&C games are all set in the future - near or distant - where circumstances have forced the differing sides into all-out war.

Earth 2150's setting includes three sides - the Lunar Corporation, European Dynasty and United Civilized States. Each are the products of their times, the nations that formed from the nuclear disaster that was essentially World War III. The Lunar Corporation is a lunar colony that is now independent, prosperous and quite civilized. They didn't see themselves as part of the conflict waged down on Earth by the ED and UCS. The war was hard and brutal - spurred as much by power as ideological differences. The UCS was a nation of lazy, weak people who had robots do everything for them. The ED rose out of the ashes of Europe and Asia, both of which bore the brunt of the great war. The people were hard, tough, and indoctrinated with government loyalty, designed to be expendable.

So another war was fought, but the atomics used this time threw the Earth's orbit off, and it was beginning its descent towards the sun, plummeting towards oblivion. Even the inhabitants of the moon now had something to worry about, since the moon is tied to Earth's orbit and would thus follow the mother planet to its doom.
With the planet irrevocably hurtling towards its destruction, the 3 parties involved realize that they have to get the hell out of Dodge. The only way to do it is to build an evacuation fleet to take whatever they can of civilization and settle on another world. Of course, due to their ideological differences, none of the sides wishes to co-operate with any others. There aren't enough resources for everyone either, so a war will have to settle matters.
Of Course It's Not That Simple
Despite being riddled with cliche, the plot is better than most and manages to have interesting quirks and turns. The three sides give you 3 campaigns to play through. The LC campaign is the shortest, followed by the UCS and finally the ED.
