Antaeus, son of Gaia and Poseidon, a massive giant who could defeat all that opposed him. Nearly invincible as long as he was in contact with the earth, only one person learned how to defeat him - Hercules. The aptly named Antaeus of Hostile Waters is a giant in its own ranks and nearly invincible if kept within reach of earth. Enough with the history lesson though, the only question on your mind is - is this game worth looking at? We here try to keep an open mind, let's just say we didn't have to try too hard this time around.

Story
The year is 2032; peace is all the talk of the town. In a scant 40 years the world has managed to realize that working together is what matters most. So instead of blowing up statues of Buddha, all the countries have come together to work under one premise - helping humanity. A major part of this came about when the value of money and normal work as we know it changed drastically. Food, clothing, shelter… all the necessities that were once the cause and purpose of many a life are now chores for microscopic machines. Nano-technology has taken life to places where no one thought possible. Everything is as happy as it could be. The bees are buzzing! The birds are chirping! Dears…well they do whatever it is they do. And people, once and for all, are happy without the use of narcotic substances.

Isn't it always the case though? Everything always has to seem hunky dory before the turds start flying. Well some people weren't exactly pleased with the current state of affairs. This group of people, a "cabal" if you will, is attempting to take civilization back to a point in time where they are the rulers. They are going to destroy this whole concept of peace for humanity, and in the process swing us right back to where we are now.

In this tiny span of thirty years, the world has managed to toss away all weapons of any sort. It's like trying to send a bunch of Care Bears out to war. So instead of teaching their peace loving constituents to fight, the world government resorts to recalling one of its old warships, the adaptive cruiser Antaeus. What makes Antaeus special? Its crew is totally replenishable, and it can make an almost infinite amount of weaponry.
That unpossible!
The adaptive cruisers have soulcatcher chips installed to automatically capture the memories, abilities, and conscience of its crew the second they die. These can then be loaded on numerous other machines for use, kind of like downloading a person into a car's trip computer - only a hell of a lot more so.

Antaeus is also chock full of nano-machinery. These tiny machines, by tiny I mean microscopic, can build entire jets, tanks, and helicopters from piles of scrap. A few million can build a car in a matter of hours; billions can build a jet in a few minutes - Antaeus has trillions of them, capable of building incredible machines of war in a matter of seconds. If it doesn't have the schematics for a particular vehicle, simply drop a sample into the recycler - boom - you have its inner workings, with production capability made available in a matter of moments.
