Jane's USAF boasts real 3D cockpits for each of your aircraft (2D ones are optional), and a 3D terrain engine with some of the most advanced graphics you've ever seen in a flight simulation. If you've got the horsepower you'll want to take this game up to 1280x1024 for some eye popping graphics. You'll also be treated to some cool features like night time missions, shadows, and multiple explosion types. Just like real life, there are a lot of ways to crash and burn! USAF features 8 flyable aircraft in total, each with realistic flight mechanics and weapon systems. Don't expect to last long if you take a F-4 Phantom up against a F-22!

The eight aircraft in USAF run the gamut from dedicated interceptor to ground pounder specialization and everything in between. From the Vietnam era we have the multitalented F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber and the F-4E Phantom interceptor. Into the modern era there are two anti-ground specialists - the F-117 Stealth Fighter armed with laser guided bombs, and the A-10 Warthog, a tank busting menace armed with a gargantuan 30 mm cannon. USAF includes two variants of the F-15, the C model and the E model. The C is more of suited as an interceptor to take out enemy aircraft, while the E includes weapons systems that make it just as deadly attacking ground targets as air targets. Of course, no roundup of US fighters is complete without the Electric Jet, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a favorite among flight sim fans. The super advanced F-22 Lightning II interceptor rounds out the list of playable fighters, with its supercruise ability (can break Mach 1 without hitting the gas guzzling afterburner).
