Westwood has just announced the official expansion pack to Red Alert 2, Command & Conquer, Yuri's Revenge. The pack is being touted as the "largest expansion pack in Westwood's history," featuring new units for the Allies and the Soviets, 14 new single player campaign missions, 10 new co-op multiplayer missions, and a third army - Yuri's Psychic Army (unfortunately, Yuri's gang is only playable through multiplayer). Those who played the Red Alert 2 remember Yuri as the creepy Soviet psi-warfare expert, a ruthless man hellbent on engaging in psychic warfare and brain washing.

In Yuri's Revenge, Yuri creates his own mutinous army and splits off from the main Soviet force, attempting world domination on his own. The Allies and the Soviets must join forces to take on Yuri's twisted army and thwart his plans to take over the world (he's actually a much bigger threat than even Pinky & the Brain in that regard).

In total, Yuri's Revenge introduces thirty new units, vehicles, and buildings to the RA2 universe. Players fight in a number of new urban locales, including San Francisco, Sydney, Hollywood, Seattle, London, Cairo, Transylvania, and the moon. Details are very limited at this point, but we do have character sketches and descriptions of a few members of Yuri's Army

This femme fatale is a sniper that fires a syringe of virulent nastiness into one hapless soldier. The victim bloats up to twice his size, floats up into the air and finally explodes into a cloud of poisonous gas that damages any other infantry standing nearby.

Brute

This bad boy looks like a cross between the Incredible Hulk and X-Men's Cyclops. He's genetically engineered to be so huge (kind of like the old East German women's swimming team) that he cannot be crushed by tanks. In fact, the Brute can actually walk up to enemy vehicles and flip them over to destroy them. He's immune to Dogs and Terror Drones as well as psychic attacks.

Boomer

The Boomer is a special submarine that has two different attacks. Land targets will feel the wrath of its cruise missiles, while sea based targets have to fear its torpedo attacks. The Boomer can attack Dolphins and Squid, and cannot be grabbed and pulled underneath the surf by the Giant Squid's grab attack. In its submerged state, the Boomer is vulnerable to Destroyers and Subs - while surfaced, Carriers, Dreadnoughts and aircraft can attack it.

Slave Miner

Yuri's army utilizes a combination mining vehicle/mobile refinery. The Slave Miner deploys up to five human slaves with shovels who collect ore and return it to the miner, where it is instantly converted to money. If the Slave Miner is attacked, the human slaves will defend the Miner using their shovels as clubs. Dead slaves are automatically regenerated by the Slave Miner. Whoever kills the Miner however, will win the loyalty of whatever slaves are still standing. Hey, free cannon fodder!

Yuri is so vain that his infantry recruitment barracks is built in his image. It's not a pretty picture, unlike this other famous Yuri.

Yuri's Revenge is slated for a fall release, and interestingly, will be published under the EA Games brand by Electronic Arts, not the Westwood brand. We'll get more details aobut Yuri's Revenge this May at E3.
