AMD
I think maybe now it's reasonable to say we've settled into a monthly update of the CPU price guide. It's really surprising to note that not much happened in this span of thirty days. We might see some cuts after the Christmas season, this time we saw a lot of prices go up.

Comments
Sadly enough the most enticing AMD CPUs rose in price. If you are jumping into the Athlon scene for the first time we would recommend getting the Athlon XP 1500+, or 1600+ if you don't mind the extra twenty bucks. You might as well stay away from the regular Athlon, as the price point isn't really worth it anymore, in comparison to the XP. If it be a budget box you are building, you might as well get the Athlon over the Duron, as the price is low enough (that is unless you want to go bottom of the barrel for a web machine or something like that).
The two new processors this time around are the Athlon MP 1900+ and the Duron 1.2 GHz. On a random note, the normal XP processors will no longer function in dual mode anymore - earlier revisions were reported to work fine, but don't count on it any longer.
