AMD
Ok, we're sort of slacking on the weekly side of things here. The good thing is that prices dropped across the board with the exception of a few scragglers. If you have any suggestions on how we could improve this service, do not hesitate to email them in. The happier we are - the happier you are… or something along those lines.

Just when you thought AMD processors couldn't possibly get any cheaper, look what they go and do. Aside from the MP, it's raining AMD processors.
Starting from the top, do not expect the Palomino 1.2 GHz MP to drop in price any time soon. That's the one thing AMD still has some profit margin left on. Until dual capable boards become more common place, and faster speed grades become available, this processor is going to stay up there. Not that we're saying $160 is much to pay for the best that AMD has to offer.
The Thunderbird scene falls a bit further. We're guessing by next week the 1.4 GHz will have dropped below $100, giving even the street urchins of Nairobi more processing power for the buck. As we said last week, unless you really can't spare the twenty or so extra dollars, you might as well get the flagship Thunderbird.
In a stunning move, AMD has dropped the price on the Durons and entered the Christmas ornament industry. For a scant $30 you to can bedeck your tree with the latest in technological advancements. This is honestly the cheapest we've ever seen a processor. The amazing thing here is that these prices continue to drop. Before, whenever you saw processors this low, it generally meant that the CPU was long gone and a few vendors had the price posted for kicks. But these Durons are actually still dropping in price, and are in stock. If Grandma-ma needs a computer, this wouldn't be a bad buy at all.
