Overclockng/Setup
Overclocking
If you recall our experience with overclocking the Duron 900, the highest clock speed we achieved was initially 1104MHz, but eventually revised down to 1080MHz. While the chip ran games and SYSMark 2001 with no problems at 1.1GHz, we couldn't say the same for one application: Business Winstone 2001. While we could complete a few back-to-back tests at 1104MHz, if the system ran looped for extended periods of time, lockups would consistently creep up, regardless of core voltage.
In the case of our Duron 950, the highest clock speed we could achieve was 1054MHz (8.5x124) at 1.8V. No matter what we tried, we just couldn't get 1064MHz (8.0x133) stable. Perhaps the ANCA cores are running out of headroom? It's a good thing Morgan's right around the corner.
