Introduction

For Sarju, All-night Angst

As we promised in the previous article, here is our update to this great and wonderful topic of FSAA. We have a few benchmarks of the new Detonator 5.22 and Voodoo5 5500 V1.1drivers in action as well as the necessary FSAA comparisons. As usual, the Detonators are in various stages of beta so the standard disclaimers of performance and all that stuff have to be said. I doubt the Voodoo drivers are complete either, so I guess the same would apply there too. Chances are we won't give a rats ass as to how either of these cards function by the time any of these drivers are complete and need no further updating. Something new and shiny will have caught our eye by then.

As far as we can tell the Voodoo drivers didn't change very much. The new NVIDIA drivers now support D3D FSAA. Many people have been saying that support will be either non-existent or sporadic at best, but we can say that the 5.22s are a definite improvement. While our tests aren't comprehensive enough to determine whether D3D FSAA will work in all games, or even in most games, it did work in the games we tested.

FSAA, Tale of Horror

Once again I was placed in front of two systems. Desperately trying to find escape by any means, even if it meant a slow and torturous death on the sharp sides of a computer case. Those FS guys are sharp as tacks and caught onto my attempts pretty quickly, they had even managed to put corks on my sporks. The FS crew was forced to tie me to a chair and clamp my eyelids open -I believe James referred to it as "Clockwork Orange style." I do this all for you, my lovely readers.
