What do we like to do when we want to relax? Many of us close our eyes. By closing our eyes, our other senses become heightened, and usually our hearing dominates. Try it some time, but not while you are operating any heavy machinery. Unfortunately that new ultra fast video card we just bought can't help us, but that doesn't mean our computers can't be part of the experience. Currently one of the best indicators of quality that consumer electronics have carried is the approval or certification of Lucasfilm THX laboratories. The new $249 Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400 surround speakers represent the union of multimedia speakers and THX.
A quick look at the press release for the Klipsch ProMedias will tell you immediately that this isn't your father's set of computer speakers. These babies have 400 RMS watts of power, more than most home theater setups. In addition, these "computer" speakers are made by a company known for high-end home and professional audio.

If you're not familiar with THX, head on over to your movie theater. George Lucas created THX because he wanted his audience to experience his movies as he would felt they should be experienced.. Seeing the THX certification at the movie theater assures us that we are getting the best. This certification has been available for consumer products for some time now, and recently THX certification became available for multimedia products. The first, and currently only set of speakers to carry the THX certification comes from Klipsch.
