FiringSquad Summary:

It’s nice to see that PowerColor has not completely followed reference design with their Radeon X800GT, being of the only partners to implement a dual-DVI solution with their card. The card’s bundle is also above average, with PowerColor able to include a full version of Pacific Fighter’s with this card. It’s nice to see PowerColor still bundling games with their sub $200 graphics cards, as most companies have abandonded the practice in an effort to further cut costs and appeal to the price-concuscious buyer.

With all that said, the PowerColor Radeon X800GT truly shines when we venture into our overclocking tests. Running ATI Tool to overclock the card, we were able to experience the scalability of the R480 core first hand, overclocking the card to a core clock frequency of 550MHz, and a memory clock frequency of 1GHz. That adds up to a core overclock of 75MHz, an overclock that itself is more than 1/7th the total frequency of the card.
