The M61P-S3 motherboard is based on the NVIDIA GeForce 6100 Northbridge chipset and the NVIDIA nForce 430 Southbridge chipset. It supports AMD Athlon 64 X2, Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64 and Sempron Processors, with Hyper-Transport Technology and 800MHz (1600 MT/s) Front Side Bus support.

Memory Expansion
The M61P-S3 provides 2 DIMM sockets using Dual Channel 240-pin DDR2 with a total capacity of up to 16GB-64bit (4GB-32bit). You can install DDR2 400/533/667/800MHz Memory.

PCI Express Support
The M61P-S3 fully supports PCI Express, the latest I/O interconnect technology that speeds up the PCI bus. PCI Express features point-to-point serial interconnections between devices and allows higher clockspeeds by carrying data in packets. This high-speed interface is software compatible with existing PCI specifications.

IDE
The M61P-S3 includes built in IDE facilities that support Ultra DMA 33/66/100/133.
Audio
The M61P-S3 comes with a Realtek ALC883 audio codec which supports high quality 8-channel audio.

Serial ATA RAID Support
The M61P-S3 supports the Serial ATA technology through the Serial ATA interfaces. Doubles bus bandwidth which provides blazingly high disk performance, up to 3.0Gb/s, with RAID 0, 1, 1+0 and 5 solutions.
