Well todays update must come later as it's not possible to upload
files in the matrix at the moment. Anyway I have added hints to the 2
remaining questions in last weeks quiz. [Link Below]

Still not possible to upload files and I don't have a clue when it will be possible.

The upload function has been fixed.
So this weeks quiz is week late. I am not sure if I should also
upload this weeks quiz today or wait after the weekend so there won't
be 14 new question in one day (Better to spread it around).

Just for fun, because I don't know how long it will take FS to fix the
upload function, I'll add some questions on gaming hardware for the moment.
I'll start with 4 questions, not 1 to 4 as that is the system for the
regular game quiz, but A to D.

Question A: What was the first 3D graphics card for PC gamers?

Question B: What chipset was first generation 3dfx's Voodoo main rival?

Question C: What company tried to marked graphic cards specifically to gamers that wanted to cheat?

A: The two first chips for the 3d gaming market were announced in May 1995. The GIGI from 3Dlabs was on sale in August 1995 (Creative 3D Blaster VLB). A month later Nvidia came with NV1 (Diamond Edge 3D).
*3Dlabs is know nfor their FireGL professional 3D graphics card series.

B: The chipset that was first gen. Voodoo biggest rival was the NEC/PowerVR's PCX-1. Which were sold on Vidoelogic's Apocalypse 3D add in card. It offered top performance but needed a higher end PC than the Voodoo.

C: Asus released drivers for cheaters. For more info check the link.

A - This seems debatable, but I don't think this is the first 3D graphics card targeted to gamers.
But according to my info the chip was announced in 1995 and card sold based on it in 1996.

B - Incorrect, although no a bad guess.

Incorrect, Sound 46 is not heretic (BTW heretic is not true 3D).

As for Sound 49, I am sure you have played at least one game in the series.

At the time I perceived Rendition Verite as the main competitor to the 3dfx Voodoo, but after looking on Wikipedia I'm no longer sure...

From your text questions -

I'd guess that the first true 3D card was the Voodoo from 3dfx. The main rival to them back then would have been the TNT cards from nVidia.

Not sure about the cheat card though. I'm also guessing the EAX1 rival was Aureal's A3D (who were eventually sucked up into the behemoth that is Creative).

As I still can't upload the sounds/images, this is the best I can do for the moment.

I was actually thinking of a different card/chip, as the first gamer card, and a different rival to the Voodoo. But you are correct on Aureal's A3D.
