wtf Best bang-for-the-buck Video Card? (4 comments )

This is more of a request for input rather than a story. From what I can tell, these are the current (10:23am 5/6/08) video cards that represent the best bang-for-the-buck (prices seem to hover around $150 +/-) :

• nVidia 8800gts 320MB
• nVidia 9600gt 512MB
• ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB

Clearly, there are a bunch of comments on the sites that sell this stuff, but it seems like everyone who comments there is trying to justify their purchase. So who's got experience with these cards? Have I left anything out?

I still say the 8800GT. You can't find a G92 GTS for $170 and the GTS is only a small percentage faster.

Get an 8800GTS 512MB.Best bang for the buck.Much better than all the previous G80 based GTSes,better than 8800GT & at par/somewhat better than an 8800GTX.Get yourself an XFX 8800GTS 512 Alpha Dog edition. You won't be regretting.I'm using one of that in my machine & i'm more than satisfied.
