For years PC motherboard makers have made motherboards with one ounce of copper sandwiched between circuit board layers. Gigabyte has changed that with it's Ultra Durable 3 Technology by doubling the amount of copper used to two ounces.

By doubling the amount of copper to two ounces Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 motherboards run cooler and dissipate heat quicker. Doubling the amount of copper also causes a fifty percent lower PCB impedance, resulting in a more efficient flow of electricity throughout the motherboards circuitry.

Another advantage is a lower degree of EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference) which makes for a more stable system and allows a higher overclock. Any technology that will keep our components cooler and allow us to overclock them higher is great in my book.
