| Agreed.
My only question to the pre-teen fan base is...why?
1)Plays on grandpas' old Pentium II without a hitch.
2)Wretched graphics suits anime' generation just fine.
3) Blizzard software impossible to uninstall.
Just looking for answers. Bring on D3. Flag this | Edit this post |

| 1)Most of the old classic instances / raids are now scalable. They did a good job there.
2)A combat data log has been discussed to death on the LOTRO forums. Some people say it would be helpful in regards to attack rotations, etc..., others say it could easily be used to bash people ("why didn't you do this", ad neauseaum). Overall, it's a game that is suitable to a lot of styles and they manage to pull it off better than any, imo. The player base is overall very helpful and friendly. Good times.
Having a Champ, I can discuss agro issues forever. Trev makes some good points, but not all of them are spot-on. Flag this | Edit this post |

| As a daily forum viewer and player, you are correct. The consensus is that it just might work. The big fear is that it may drag in the same kind of pre-teen, epeen, trash that's common elsewhere.
Oh wait. Most WoW kiddies won't be able to run this game on Grandma's 7-year-old PC. I feel better already. :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Actually, I do disagree with you, although I do sometimes wish there were more 12-mans in the game (but they are pretty big w/ 5-day locks). You have to balance that against the fact that this game caters to a more mature, and far older, crowd than WoW... people that usually have a life outside of the game. It's pretty hard to put a raid together of fellow kin members more than once a week. There is a wealth of good 6 and 3-man stuff though, and the level 60 instances are still quite playable at 65 (with good drops). As far as the agro management, I actually appreciate that you have to think about what you're doing as compared to the Leroy Jenkins approach. There are a lot of things in this game that could use a good tweaking, but Its one of those games were the people playing it make it far more fun than the sum of its' parts.
All that said, I'm waiting to see if SW will actually live up to the hype. Anyone who talks that much trash in promotion of new product usually doesn't come out looking very good in the end. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I was at BlizzCon this year, so if you want my opinion....
1)There were a lot of nicely dressed ladies in WoW gear.
2)I never have, and still don't care for, WoW. Dull graphics (for my taste)and gameplay. Other mmo's do it better.
3) Starcraft 2: If you like the 1st, you'll love the 2nd. The new units for the Zerg and Protoss are sweet!
4) Diablo 3: This is the game I'm really looking forward to after playing it for a while. I was nicley surprised by the dynamic lighting and environmental effects.
5) Nobody does cutscenes better than Blizzard.
6) Ozzie Ozborne is OLD...and sounds it (lol). Flag this | Edit this post |
