| | No need to worry... I saw some dev posts that showed they were done a few weeks back, but not all the localizations were done. Now they are officially gold, so I guess they couldn't announce gold until all localizations were done. Flag this | Edit this post |

| No nearly as much as I used to. I would say 3 years right now for main individual parts... but this is going to further increase after my next upgrade I am sure.
1) CPU makes almost no difference for games or non-engineering applications. Infact, since more and more engineering type applications are incorporating CUDA and OpenCL now, high end CPU becomes less of a factor as time goes on.
2) Video cards are so ridiculously powerful, that the price premiums for high end cards are not worth it. If you are running a 19 inch monitor, there is no need to spend more then $150 on a video card to get maximum settings at your native display rate.
3) Ram is always dirt cheap, and the premiums on fast ram make little difference. As long as you have enough, that is enough. 4Gbs is enough right now, has been for awhile. I don't see a need for more than 8GBs 5 years from today.
*****************************************
My next CPU upgrade will be to Ivy bridge with 8GBs ram (with the option to expand to 16GBs+ if there is some unforseen reason to up it). I expect it will last 5+ years now.
I upgraded my video card last year to a 460 1GB (got it from newegg on sale for $120 with a $20 rebate). Before that it was an 8800GT from 3 years ago for $180. The 460 has ridiculous CUDA crunch power, and alot of my engineering apps I use professionally are actually faster now.
I see no reason really to upgrade it anytime soon, until I can't max settings for my monitor's 1680x1050 max resolution, and the next CUDA architecture is out.
So maybe a new video card 2 years down the road from today? Flag this | Edit this post |

| "...an endless battle with no purpose other than ladder points"
LOL :D
Pretty sure I saw a siege tank there for a second.
Edit: Yep, looks like one of the siege heroes is literally a Terran Siege Tank :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| The problem with your argument is that you fail to see how badly welfare state problems are now being applied to corporations.
Corporations like Apple have lobbied an environment far from a free market economy.
No doubt Jobs was a #1 offender of moving the US even further away from a free market. (something it never really implemented in the 1st place)
What is actually happening is a power struggle to see who can payout the most corporate welfare to attract the most corporations now.
You could read "The Fight for Jobs and America's Economic Future" to see how policies of having the lowest corporate taxes and lax regulations did not translate into job creation. What really needs to happen for job creation is corporate welfare.
eg: You are arguing that S. Jobs and friends are visionary capitalists building these companies out of nothing, and I am arguing they are the worst offenders of welfare... and now are arranging deals with centrally planned governments in order to extort more corporate welfare out of US tax payers.
I dunno... maybe I'm more right leaning when it comes to economic policy then you? Which is why you assume (false positive) I'm a commie or something? ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Haha... really?
The country is falling apart around you as profitable companies lay off workers simply to exploit low wage countries... and you think 7 times the deficit in profit going to a select few is a good thing?
You're usually a smart guy, but you are being a moron on this.... Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The shipment of the ready-to-use iPhones from China to the US is recorded as China’s exports to the US. Using the total manufacturing cost $178.96 as the price of the iPhone, China’s iPhone exports to the US amounted $2.0 billion in 2009. Assuming that the parts supplied by Broadcom, Numonyx and Cirrus Logic, valued at $121.5 million, were imported from the US the iPhone alone contributed $1.9 billion trade deficit to the US, about 0.8% of the US trade deficit with China. | The unpopular view...
Guy is a traitor and destroyer of America, outsourcing US technological secrets and high-tech manufacturing to our enemies in order to make a buck.
Guy was responsible for the enslavement of millions in FoxConn slave cities.
Good riddance f**ker...
Though I do like my iTouch. Thanks for that. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I not only would like one.... but I deserve one for being a child of the 80s and being terrified of the word "nuclear".
It would be good therapy to take the FUD of the word "nuclear" by rerouting my neuron connections to associate it with a fun recreational game instead. Flag this | Edit this post |

| LOL, Diablerie will undoubtedly need to change, considering how most other MMOs run.
"It's my turn to Diablerize the Sabbat prince on this raid, when he respwns in 24 hours someone else can have a go."
I am interested in how they will implement Presence 5:Majesty however. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Wow what an egomaniac, I can't remember the last time I had to look at someone flapping their mouth off like this.
Dear talking head... you art style is uninspiring, your dialog sucks ass and all you've done is combine elements of the best games into yours.
Fortunately Skyrim and Diablo III are coming soon, so this game will rightly flop even if you market the crap out of it. Flag this | Edit this post |
