| Another power supply? As if we already have so much AC adapter all over the house, and you want another to warm up the place?
The reason newer PSUs are coming out with more power is because of the inefficienies of having different voltages for different device rather than just have a single 12Volt and let the devices do their own DC-DC conversion.
Heck, I think homes should include a central DC supply and distribute 12v lines straight to the outlets (along w/ AC of course) Flag this | Edit this post |

| At first, you sounded like you got the idea. But the conclusion got a little skewed.
Vista is good for gamers. Why? Because, like you said, it requires beefier computers with some sort of 3d acceleration. This is good for developers because this means that they now have a bigger market for PC users with better graphics acceleration. Hopefully with a bigger market, more developers will jump into the fray and bring out more variety of games. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm not saying that MS won't totally prevent piracy out there. Heck, even B.Gates said that himself. I'm just saying that Microsoft is doing a lot more on Vista to put a lockdown on piracy than they did in XP.
Even now you can't install any of MS's software without having to go through some sort of Genuine Windows validation. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well it sounds like someone here is out of the loop with current events. People have been talking about this for a while now since MS's introduction to Games for Windows modeling.
Quote:
Microsoft also invests in quality checking each title to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
In other words, any game developed has to go through MS. Sure, not all developers has to go under the banner of Games for Windows. But if they want to use DX10 or XNA game studio, I don't think they have any other choice. Link: http://www.gamesforwindows.com......ForWindows.aspx Flag this | Edit this post |

| You guys are missing the point in this message.
We’ll see revenues from the PC gaming market grow more than ever before,
That means that Vista will do whatever it takes to minimize the number of pirated games out there. I have a feeling that Gaming for Windows will start to function a lot like the consoles: pop-in and play. Just like the consoles, you put in the disc, and start playing. This will be interesting because a lot of the game data will be streamed straight from the disc, ensuring a good chance that the copy is legit. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Screw Virtual Reality 100 years from now, who would want to sit on one spot to play games? 100 years from now, our technology on medicine and bioscience will be so advanced that gaming would be more like Reality Gaming. Enhanced muscles, vision, reaction time, recordable memory, faster healing, tougher skin, extended endurance, etc. You're playing field will be the jungle, desert, or polar caps (if it's still there by that time).
