| Its like firestone advertising for its tires. With all the bad press the HD-DVD camp got recently, it will take more than a 2.7 million dollar commercial to save them.
99 dollar players are the only thing right now that can take it out of the hole its in. Flag this | Edit this post |

| It seems like they announced the QX9770 as more of a slap in the face to AMD. Intel really doesnt have to release anything else for the next 6-8 months, and they will still hold the performance crown, as long as they consistently drop prices on their products, and turn extreme versions into regular consumer versions, minus the unlocked multiplier.
And the QX9770 does work with the X38, just not officially. It clearly ran on their benchs, without using the X48, so X38 owners can hold off on upgrading if they really want the newest processor next quarter.
Intel appears to have commited to this 2 year architecture shift, so i think they will continue to innovate, regardless of AMD giving them competition. Intel does have to compete with itself, you know. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "I'm predicting that Super Mario Galaxy will sell better than Crysis."
Well thats pretty obvious. How many high-end PC's are there, compared to the number of wii's? People that dont even like Mario and own a Wii will buy it anyways. Its not like there are many good games for the Wii, so its pretty difficult to not pick up their highest rated game. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yea. It apparently has to do with Vsync being set to "Application Controlled" or whatever it is. Setting it to "Forced On" or "Forced Off" makes it work.
However, what i do agree with is there needs to be further optimizations. I refuse to believe a GTX cant run the game in DX10 with Shaders on Very High smoothly.
And with all the hype surrounding the game, it would take something alot more catastrophic to push this game back any more. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Im really tired of AMD. Why dont they spend less time talking about the future and spend more time talking about the present.
Nvidia mentions nothing about their GT that came out. They only tell you when its out.
I dont care about the fusion. I dont care what its good for. Let console makers decide that.
Tell us how your 3800 scores in 3D Mark. How much better it is than the competition. Tell us how well your Phenom will encode a Divx movie.
Stop looking into the future because there might not be one if you dont concentrate on whats happening now.
PS. What i meant was that is all i hear from AMD. Not that this type of press release isn't warranted. Its only that is all i hear from AMD. I want to hear about the real world properties of their soon to be released products (i.e. performance numbers, not percentages). Not "only" (note the quotes) what they plan to do 2 to 3 years down the road. I apologize if that wasn't clear. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I have a similar system as the person above, and i am extremely disappointed by the performance. Ever since getting a GTX, games have run very nicely, which has kind of spoiled me (on my 6800, i used to play games with horrible frame rates, and it was ok to me at the time. Not anymore).
If, and only if, i turn shaders to Very High, the performance drops significantly. To make it playable, i keep that on high and everything else on Very High (1680x1050). I havnt played with AA, since that seems to kill performance as well. If this game is optimized (of course, by Nvidia. Its probably too late to do anything by release date, except through patch) then it will be amazing.
I mean, even lost planet fixed its horrible performance with a patch, which finally made it playable with maxed out settings.
Some people have said the graphics arnt great, but i would have to disagree. Its the best looking game out there, by far. Flag this | Edit this post |
