| » This would make consoles like PCs Right now, console makers sell their consoles at a loss, so that people buy their console instead of another one. With a one console system, this would not be the case. There would be no point to making a console unless you can make a profit, so something equivalent to an xbox260 would cost like $700+.
There would be so many manufacturers making consoles, that in order to differentiate themselves from the pack, some console makers are going to make their consoles faster than the base hardware specs, so you can run existing games at higher fps, add anti-aliasing, etc..
Games will start having graphics options for people with these higher end consoles, and before you know it, the console market will basically be like the pc market.
I think a lot of this can be avoided with licensed multi-platform engines. If you build a game with the UT3 engine, it should be relatively easy to port it between PC, xbox 360, and PS3. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I don't agree that the plasmids are useless. I actually found them MORE useful then the weapons and was constantly running out of eve. The easiest way to kill most enemies is to shock them or freeze them, then hit them with the wrench or a point blank shotgun blast. The bees are invaluable against big daddies since they stop chasing to fight off the bees. The plasmids to get a regular enemie or big daddy to fight on your side are also very useful when there are many enemies at once. It sounds to me like the reviewer didn't spend much time experimenting with the plasmids. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The DNF devs know they're all going to get fired as soon as they release the game, so they're just going to delay for as long as 3D Realms will continue sign their paychecks. Honestly of DNF was ever released, who would trust these guys to make another game? Flag this | Edit this post |

| If Nintendo can come up with another huge innovation for their next gen console, then they could get away with releasing yet another upgraded gamecube.
Sony is really getting owned. If this fall's major ps3 titles can't turn things around, the PS3 is in serious trouble. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | There's no way Blizzard is going to release an online rpg WITHOUT monthly fees. Many wow players are former diablo 2 players and they would just migrate from wow to diablo 3. Blizzard won't let that happen unless Diablo 3 is a full mmorg with monthly fees. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Virtua Fighter should finally surpass the Tekken series in sales now that it's on Xbox 360 as well, and the PS3 is tanking.
Fighting games are getting stale though. I'm hoping someone will make a really innovative fighting game using the Wii's controller. Flag this | Edit this post |
