| Ummm.....MGM is owned by Sony. I would hope that they are Blu-Ray exclusive and still supporting the format. What a response by Sony. Hey we want to assure everyone that we will continue to support ourselves!!!!
No matter what Sony says or it's partners this is a blow to the Blu-Ray camp. However, in the end all this means is that this format will go on for a long time. HD DVD is here to stay. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well if you listen to Bungie they have been testing that theory and said that the mouse keyboard players were not owning as you would expect. They commented that the good console players pawned many of the keyboard mouse players. So take that for what it's worth.
I would still imagine that the M/K combo would have an advantage on the ground but the console players are going to own the vehicles IMO. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Thank God I can't wait for my next 108 hour gaming session in a hot sauna or freezer van. I may not have allot of exclusive titles or a large game library like the 360 but Sony has saved the day by making me an extreme weather gaming machine. Thanks Sony. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I doubt it. The original MOBO will continue to spiral down in costs. Having that one out there for the CORE will actually be even more cost effective from a profit standpoint then the newer HDMI version.
If they switched to the HDMI only version then they would miss out on the profitability of the older MOBO. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The price should have been 149.99. That's a great price point. Plus with the drop in the 360 it would be perfect. $20.00 is probably not enough to entice anybody.
Also, MS would love if HD DVD won but it won't matter. If HD DVD fails then MS releases a Blu-Ray add on the following day. If Blu-Ray fails, Sony is in deep you know what. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sony might still need some changes at the top me thinks. This is basically a glorified SALE while supplies last! Not a price drop.
If MS comes out with a legit price drop around X-MAS it could bury Sony in this gen. I don't think MS will though after the money they just ponied up for the extended warranties. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Not only just with Beta but Multi-player graphics on most games are dulled down version of what you will see in the single player campaigns so it runs better. Wait until you play a Halo Single player demo before judging the graphics. The demo footage I got to see in HD looked sweet to me.
Bottom line is though it comes down to game play. To many people are "sheeped" into thinking that if a game looks pretty it rocks. Give me a great game with GOOD graphics versus a game with Sweet Graphics but as shallow as Paris Hilton any day of the week. Flag this | Edit this post |

| If MS plays there cards right, a price drop could be the nail in the coffin for the PS3. Though I don't think there is anyway the Sony drops the PS3, it could mean the PS3 never rises above #3. Sony just simply cannot win a price war.
It really is a win win for gamers. Price wars always benefit us. Now if we could only start a games price war. :D Flag this | Edit this post |

| Great point. Based on this numbers shouldn't 33% of the people I know have failures? I don't even know one person who has had a bad 360. OK, I know one idiot who spilled a drink on his but that doesn't count.
I own a launch 360 and and an Elite. I have had zero problems. I know 10 other owners (6 of which are launch 360's). Shouldn't one of us have problems if this statistics holds true? Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah but what good does that thread do? The only people that are going to be loud are the ones with problems. It's not like people with zero issues are going to wonder in that thread to post. It's hardly a good sampling at all.
It would be interesting to have some outside company poll actually 360 owners to get a more realistic sampling. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yep the war is over until next week Netflix, and other video chains announce they are backing HD DVD. This is far from over. Sadly I don't see an end to this anytime soon.
Just get a dual format player and let the "industry" worry about who wins. In the mean time you can get whatever movies you like. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree with one part of the article. Most of the games are just blah. Most of the really good games on the Wii have been 1st party titles that were built from the ground up for the Wii.
The third party DEV teams really need to take it up a notch. Anybody has played some of the same ported games over to Wii can probably tell you that some games just are not as fun to play with the Wii remote. The control schemes are just frustrating. The Wii probably has the rest of the year to ride the novelty wave then things need to change. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Something tells me the game might not be that good. Why limit your sales to just Target? I am sure they got a pretty penny form Target. However, you can't tell me they could make up for all the sales they would get by putting it in all the stores.
Something tells me this game is going to be a stinker. Flag this | Edit this post |

| How is Halo 3 turning into a disappointment? I have heard just the opposite. Not to mention the single player aspect has not been seen by anybody yet. The comment is way premature. Not to mention the entire reason the multi-player beta exists is to improve the experience.
Oh yeah and what experts are questioning the sales numbers? You say things but don't back anything up with facts. Besides since when does any game console company not inflate numbers? Sony and Nintendo are more then guilty. If the numbers are not "real" anyway, I seriously doubt they would need to include replacements.
Wii is killing everybody in CURRENT sales. That's a fact. The 360 has the largest library and install base. That's a fact. The 360 sales are still doing very well. The Elite is selling out.
Now your also commenting on how inferior the same game might be on the 360? Your true colors are shining through. This console war is far from over and I don't count out the Wii or PS3 out. The 360 holds the lead but the War is far from over.
Until then I think we as gamers will benefit from cool games and hopefully a price war coming whether MS admits it or not. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » We Shall See Xbox 360 install base is now at 11 million units, The Wii has hit 5.8 million to date. Not to mention a big chunk of the Wii install base is in Japan. Like I said before, unless the Wii comes out with some good 3rd party titles it will fizzle. Flag this | Edit this post |

| What do you mean poor XBOX? The XBOX 360 has the largest install base overall. MS has never done well in Japan but they are not as dependent on Japan as the Wii and PS3. If anything it's poor PS3. They are getting outsold here and there with a smaller install base. I just don't see how the PS3 crawls out of the hole it's in.
In terms of the Wii, they better get some more quality titles out there that actually use the controller well. There is only a few games that use it well and no 3rd party block busters in site. They might continue to do well in Japan but in the states they will quickly come down to earth without any great 3rd party titles. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Based on this article you would think the order is Wii, 360 then PS3 in terms of the war. Correct me if I am wrong if the install base of the 360 is bigger then the Wii, it should be 360, Wii then PS3. The Wii is obviously in a position to catchup but it's not there yet.
At any rate, here come the fan boys. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I just don't see how the PS3 wins this gen. Not at least on this planet. Sony must not either considering they just ousted the "father" of the Playstation.
People always used to point out first that the PS2 took the last gen because of the library and exclusive titles. Funny how that same argument all of the sudden doesn't apply to Microsoft. Exclusive devs jumping ship to 360....the 360 in return getting many more exlusive titles..... yeah the PS3 will win. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I like the idea of the thing. Especially if your system is in the living room. You don't have a place for a keyboard and mouse. Yes you could just join a voice chat. However, sometimes you just don't feel like chatting. Also, if you want to leave a text message this thing makes it convenient.
The key is how much is this thing going to cost? If there pricing strategy is anything like the "Elite" then it will be a bust. Flag this | Edit this post |
