» Breaking News!
DX10 compatibility for XP will come not long after the Windows 98 update which itself is due sometime after the Windows 3.11 release...

Microsoft are also working on incorporating full, first generation 3Dfx glide support to the next version of windows - codenamed Vienna. I hope they get it right I'm not willing to upgrade to the latest graphics card until they sort out the drivers and reduce the price.

;-)

Irritating as it may be, business is business.

More irritating is that fact that Europeans (particularly 'rip-off Britain') suffer perpetual fleecing by most companies, regardless of profit.

It is indeed laughable watching these cases unfold sometimes but let's not forget that this is the reason companies patent there IP in the first place - to protect it. Also it would not make business sense to sue every single company producing similar technology. Just go after those that are raking in money left, right and center.

We can't blame Gibson for doing this, every patent holder is at it. That is why patent laws exist. Therefore the 'simple' solution is to change the associated laws, to be fair though most judges in cases like this are usually correct with their assessment.

I'm also looking forward to this, I played through the first mafia 'countless' times. A highly enjoyable game indeed.

I hope Illusion Softworks also have another Hidden and Dangerous in the pipeline.

It's not that bad, seriously people need to get over it. As far as branding goes, it does the job and it is clearly a highly versatile and highly memorable look.

It would have been slated regardless of it's design - this is the olympics after all...

» We're the idiots!? lol
And the point of your statement is what exactly? Get a clue my friend 'cos you're a few short at the moment.

I couldn't care less if they sell on 'steam', don't you get it? Are you THAT dumb, seriously?

Valve decides to bundle the products into one retail pack, some products in said pack we already have and/or don't want. Valve then says if you want it separately (the second episode for the game I bought years ago - along with the first episode - AT RETAIL don't forget) then I have to buy it direct from them via steam or do without. I know which I will choose, along with many others.

Valve is 'extracting the urine' (as I said in my last post), until they stop, they will surely suffer the wrath of the fans.

As for 'idiots'. You really would have to be an idiot to be taken in by it. *rolleyes*

» Valve leaks more gas, charges consumers for the privilege
Dear Valve,

Your strategy gets worse the more it emerges.

Are you extracting the urine or what? The ONLY reason most people are willing to buy the product is for EPISODE TWO, not the other 'price inflating' junk. (yeah they may be fun games in their own right, but who would PAY for two interactive technology demos? It doesn't end there, who would then pay for an ADDITIONAL copy of HL2 - AND - HL2: Episode One?)

Valve - as I've said many times in the past - you should sell these products all SEPARATELY and then you'll see what people really want. Instead you are adding content - that we don't want and/or already have - and charging us for it.

The Half Life 2 story ended with Episode One for me and but for many people it ended before.

Rethink what it is you're selling or kiss goodbye to many, many fans of the Half Life story.

Regards,
One disgruntled HL fan amongst many.

A Gift - LOL

"they were blindfolded, bound and held in isolation [in stone cells]"

"they were told by their captors that if they did not admit they were in Iranian waters when captured they faced seven years in prison"

Iran didn't fool anyone, at least not outside the middle east.

This is totally down to the system builders, it's they who are building machines barely capable of running the OS (and other software I might add) just so they can draw in the computer illiterate masses with low low prices.

And when they (the consumers) complain that their bargain basement machine doesn't run the software 'as expected' who do they complain to? Yep - the software developers.

It's a joke.
