| Do you get mad at auto manufacturers when they release new models of their cars EVERY year? Some come with new standard options that may have previously been optional upgrades. Personally, I think they will offer some kind of trade in plan much like the automobile manufacturers and their factory incentive plans.

| » When is it actually going to come out? I wonder if they decided to launch the game earlier since the film is on indefinite hold? I think I remember that they were trying to time the film for release with Halo 3. I also heard that the game was in very playable form at X06. It would be sweet if it came out in Q1 of '07.

| I did the update on my 360 and it can pull WMV files off my network without the need to be streaming from WMP11. In fact, I don't even have WMP11 installed, still using WMP10.
Also, does anybody know if the standard avi to wmv video converters out there work to allow media on the 360? I haven't had a chance to tinker yet.

| » So how long before we have a workaround? Since when has MS been able to keep briliant people from circumventing their crap? I say it'll be bamboozeled at launch, worst case scenario is 3 months. They friggin' hacked the 360 in less than 6 months, someone will nail Vista to the church door, I PROMISE!

| » He's Australian right? I think they use the AUSTRALIAN Dollar ($) in Australia. I mean I could be wrong, but maybe he was quoting the Wii's price in his native currency. So AU$400.00 is US$297.72 and AU$500.00 is US$372.02. Remember they also have the V.A.T. (Value Added Tax) added into all of their prices which runs between 15% and 20%. So he is pretty much right on the money when you consider his quotes converted to US dollars.
By the way, for us it will be:
Wii = $249.99
Extra Wiimote = $39.99
Extra Nun-Chuck = $19.99
Classic controller = $19.99
Game = $49.99
Sales Tax = 8.25% where I live.
For a total of: $411.30, granted you could leave out the classic controller, extra Wiimote, and Nun-chuck. The price with a game alone plus tax will be $324.73
So there you have it.

That is VERY impressive. 198 pounds of bear is MUCH tougher than 198 pounds of human any day of the week. He's lucky he had has dog with him or he would have been handed his ass. You gotta respect a guy who didn't run away like a little ol' bitch and leave his dog behind. Way to have some balls and loyalty to your best friend.
Much respect,

| » Way to go Atari! I don't even like racing games(other than the Need For Speed series) but this is great news and will hopefully start a trend with 360 pricing. I mean, that is a very reasonable price and I may buy this game just to show my support.

P.S. I hear it is actually going to be a good game so it should be a win-win. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So if the Native Americans decided they wanted the USA back, because historically it is their land, should we give it to them? Or should we try to live peacefully together in a mutually beneficial way and leave the past in the past in order to work constructively for creating a more unified future?

| » Not upgrading till after Vista! When I have access to quad SLI DX10 cards and a quad core CPU or two then I think it will be time to upgrade to a new machine. So I guess for me it'll be sometime in 2008? Hopefully the first Vista SP will be out and the DX10 cards will be in their second generation!

| » I agree. As much as I wanted a PS3 I think I will go the route of the Wii360 now. I read that they are getting 10%-20% yields on the Cell processor and that some PS3s will be shipped with 7 working cores out of 8. Supposedly the PS3 was designed to use only 7 of the 8 cores making the 8th core redundant. That way if you lose a core you will have a backup, but because the yields are so low they are going to release some PS3s with only 7 working cores, that means if you are unlucky enough to get one of the 7/8 core models versus the 8/8 model you're no longer going to have any redundancy.
Apparently if your system dies because you blow a core on a 7/8 model they will replace your PS3 unit if it is still under warranty otherwise you have a $599.99 paperweight.
Later,
Alex
P.S. Wait for the 2nd iteration of the hardware before picking it up or get an extended service plan that covers the core issue ;). Flag this | Edit this post |

| » It's a work of FICTION! I hate idiots. Why do they get so riled up about it? It's a work of fiction. So when Hollywood decides to make a terrorist movie set in LV, are they going to cry foul then? No becuase they will make some money for having the movie filemd there. The game designers didn't pay them anything for the use of LV as a backdrop and the politicians are mad because nobody greased their collective palms.
I hope this game sells through the roof and LV doesn't get a dime!

| » WOW! Thanks for the link. I had NO idea it was that bad! The part with you losing a core if you are unlucky enough to get the 7 core variety is horrible, especially if it happens after your warranty is out! I am SO not getting one until they get better yields, probably in its 2nd iteration. Thanks again!
