| | You'd be amazed how much damage a sugary mix of 10% real fruit juice! and preservatives will do to a motherboard and vid card. Especially since I wasn't aware of what my little saboteur had done for a couple days...I pretty much had to gut the innards. I went from reasonably fast SLI machine to a Frankenstein's monster of a rig that I pieced together with spare parts and cast-offs from friends. It was just that final little kick in the berries when I finally was able to log on again to the SLIZONE and find out I'd missed the contest deadline by a couple days. My 8 year old son kicks my but in NHL07, which is pretty embarrassing, but at least we get to spend time together doing something we both enjoy. I see a comment under my post saying "Hey Gig9, do you have a Club SLI number." Were you trying to reach me (Ging9). If so, the answer is no...I no longer have a club SLI number. When my SLI rig was destroyed, I rebuilt a system out of borrowed parts, and haven't been able to set up another SLI rig.
I'm new to these clusters, and a bit confused as to where things are supposed to be posted. I thought Round 2 was for the Nvidia SLI contest, and was open to anyone to write a review about a bad game. I posted one, only to be told that was for an entirely different contest, and you had to qualify by getting through round one. Sorry about the mixup. Flag this | Edit this post |

This really happened. Back in July I found out I'd won the card two days after my time limit ran out to claim it. It had taken me a few weeks to piece together a running computer after my daughter poured a drinkbox full of juice in my tower's exhaust port. I tried everything I could think of to get the guys that run the contest to bend the rules, but they told me they couldn't because of legal reasons. I'd never won anything in my life...this would have been the first. I was robbed by a 250ml container of apple juice! Flag this | Edit this post |
