| Agree, although I find myself using these software more and more now that I have kids. It takes no time to pop in the SD card full of pictures, open it up using the generic multimedia editing software that comes with Vista and do a quick down and dirty cropping and image editing, then hit print so I can get back to gaming as soon as possible. Photoshop just takes to much damn time & effort since it's too tempting to start playing with all options available.
I still think it's amazing that MS took them this long to realize the less bloatware the better. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | No offense taken, you're right it's obvious that it's important for a business to make a profit. I just meant regularly. I just took it for granted when AMD reports a loss once in awhile. I just shrug it off and think they'll bounce back sooner or later. Now I'm thinking they might actually not bounce back and we'll be back in the mercy of Intel. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | After reading the AP article it gives me a further understanding on how important it is for these big companies to make a profit. Without Lehman Bros, AMD would have been in some serious trouble trying to pay off some outstanding debts. Now it makes me wonder who will be doing the same when it happens again? Maybe these big buyouts will not be as prevalent was they use to be. What surprised me most was that IBM and HP are in the same boat, which by the way these are suppose to be really safe companies to buy stock from. I'm not so sure anymore. | | This commercial reminds me of a really bad Seinfeld episode. It was amusing the first time I watched it here, but after viewing it for the fourth time on TV it's starting to get really annoying, especially since it's too long to begin with, it's not really very funny and it's about nothing. So if it was their goal to make me change the channel every time it came on, then they succeeded. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Big deal, GOW was a great game in the console, but a mediocre game on the PC. It happens all the time, so if GOW2 is not coming out on the PC then no huge loss. If it was designed to be on the PC first, then we're better off not getting a second hand half-ass port attempt from Epic. People bitching not being able to play the game, just wait 2 more years when the price of a used 360 goes down to less than $100 and the game can be found for $13. By then, if the game is truly great it will still hold it's appeal and you can enjoy it even more knowing Epic didn't get a single cent from you.
Happy gaming and a PC gamer's sweet revenge. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yeah I can see the government stepping in on this one. The military advantage this could give the U.S. would be huge. Real stealth planes, and stealth drones, stealth tanks, ships, transports, nukes. Holy shit, stealth nukes, for the ultimate deterrence. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Bah, I'll stick with my AGP x1950 for another year, or at least until a really good games comes out and I wont be able to run it at all.
Nvidia has the right idea, adding PsysX support is the direction gaming should be heading. Dust, mud, particles, smoke effects, more realistic cloth movement is what games need to make them look more realistic. Not higher frame rates or higher resolution. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Damn I remember those days, which really wasn't that long ago, but due to how fast Pc tech grows, it makes it seem like an old timer's tale.
Yep, back when I was young I used to walk to schools ten miles barefoot uphill both ways in a snow storm, 8 days a week....yep, those were the good ol' days. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | How is the 360 becoming obsolete when it's the only next generation console that are releasing more games than any other? If anything the only console that's in danger of becoming obsolete is the PS3. The freaking ps2 has more games coming out for Pete's sake. Flag this | Edit this post |

| But 3 to 4 years from now, the video card market would be even more advance, so while intel is raytracing doom 4 at 640x480, we'll be playing Pixar quality games at 4000x2000 resolution on the latest GPU.
edit:
After googling the raytracing quake project, it does sound very promising, and it seems like the next major step for gaming. What I can see happening is GPU's gearing towards hardware based raytracing to support the 8 core CPU's. Link: http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=334 Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Sounds like marketing had a heavy hand in the creation of this game. There's nothing worst than remaking a classic and completely ruining it. Reminds me of Master of Orion 3. I just hope to God that Fallout 3 is not another victim. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | It's too dangerous and quite gross. Think about it, Somebody discovers you unconscious with your space pants around your ankles, and this nasty white blob floating around, because the force from Jizzing propelled you into a wall, giving you a concussion. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I don't believe this for one second. It takes massive amount of raw processing power to render raytracing images, and even now it takes anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour to render a 10 minute animation clip. So if we do see Raytracing in video games it's going to be at low resolutions with heavy antialiasing. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | You hate them? I freaking despised them for it, but I'm realist enough to understand why they are doing this. You can't argue with how many Gear of Wars games they sold on the console, something that would have been unlikely if they came out for the PC only. Piracy alone would have prevented them to reach those numbers. Then throw in the fact that most PC's can't handle the graphic requirements and it's painfully obvious why they are not sticking with the PC. I just hope ID's new engine will kick their ass and put them to shame when it comes out for the PC. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Again this is further proof that Sony has their priorities jacked up. It's suppose to be a video game console. Offering more storage at the expense of having the ability to play more games that are readily available just doesn't make any sense to me. Flag this | Edit this post |
