| » It's not a no-win situation Once this was brought to the school admins attention, they investigate. First off, they know the student. Did he have friends, was he socialized, or did he fit a profile of a loner, disgruntled angry student?
They can contact his parents, and in light of Va Tech they can even notify police. But arresting him? Barring him from school or graduation? That is overreacting. The cops confiscated a hammer from his bedroom that he used to fix his bed. A Freakin Hammer! Why not take away his baseball bat? Or his shaving razor? I hope his father locks the tool drawer. The kid might get a hold of a screwdriver, or maybe a spoon... Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Concur I think this is a poor move by nVidia. They already hold the crown, so why put out this card which offers gains I wouldn't even call modest, at a price premium? This can only damage the goodwill the community feels right now for nVidia (ATI fanboys aside) as the top performer. Maybe it's too early to judge, as 3rd party vendors may take this card up another 75-100mhz and get 20%+ over the gtx, which would then perhaps justify it's release. But even at 30% improvement I can't imagine there's a sufficient market for an $800 card. Maybe if it drops to $650 and kicks the GTX down to sub $500.
Too bad the R600 isn't going to affect nVidia prices much, but that also may be a premature statement. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Played it It was an uninteresting 3rd person action game with generic weapons, dumb AI, and repetetive action. If it wasn't actually Reservoir Dogs it would probably have just been ignored. It is kinda fun to watch the animated movie scenes, but that lasts for about 10 seconds. 3/10. Flag this | Edit this post |
