| But what's this? Do my ears doth offend?
I was under the impression from some recent developer statements that it was the PC which is the wretched hive of scum and villainy (piracy).
Seems to me, the XBOX is fighting a bit of an infestation too.
Microsoft has just been given a flash forward as to what will happen to their console business if the PC industry wanes. They will have to ban accounts again and again. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Agreed. Your older cards will work fine in W7. You just won't have access to Catalyst Control Center anymore.
I found this out when they stopped "supporting" the X1550 I had in my HTPC. However, I upgraded to an HD4550 so I would have access to the adjustments CCC offers (my display was off-center) and it turns out the adjustment wasn't available on the 4550 either, even though CCC was!
I won't say it was a total waste of money to upgrade because it does play a newer generation of games, but upgrading did not add the features that had once been present in XP/Vista. Flag this | Edit this post |

| No, I don't. That's why I said I didn't. To me this is the equivalent of posting the criticism of some obscure blogger or Facebook member. Why the need to make us aware of this? CSM has no credibility and nothing of interest to say regarding gaming (or, IMO, anything else). Their opinion is hardly surprising.
BTW, while I do enjoy mocking Christians, I would never call them stupid. 'Delusional'....or maybe 'ignorant', but not stupid. And there is quite a difference, you know. I'm sure there ARE stupid Christians (those that overtly reject evidence *cough*CSM*cough*, for example ), but not terribly more than there are of any other group (religious or non).
As for the "Patriotic American" thing....American cities have been bombed, burned, flooded, or otherwise devastated in literature and cinema for decades. When an organization of ANY kind decides to spontaneously pick on one example of this, it smacks of an agenda that has nothing to do with patriotism. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Kamus, Knuckles, et al:
As fun as it is to mock religion (and it is A LOT of fun), this is not really the place for it. Glad to know we are of like mind on the subject, however.
What I don't understand is why this was made a FiringSquad new item in the first place. Must have been a slooooow news day.
P.S. And Christian Science is definitely an oxymoron. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I've all but lost interest in the GPU market of late. They're currently in the rut CPUs were in a few years ago with the Pentium 4. The cards are getting bigger and bigger, drawing more and more power.
When we get the GPU equivalent of a Core2 (higher performance, lower power, smaller size), I'll pay attention again. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I would have been excited about this a few years ago, back when Spielberg still made good movies.
Fall Of Reach would make a better mini-series than a movie. You'd have to leave too much out in order to fit it into 2.5 hours. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Microsoft shouldn't have to include competitors' browsers (ridiculous concept), they should just have to de-integrate IE8 so it can be easily removed without bringing down the whole OS.
If MS has done that already and the EU is still unhappy, then I agree they are being dicks.
However, I think it's more likely MS is just viewing this as a pissing contest.
"Hey, you don't want us pimping OUR browser with OUR operating system? Poof, no more browser. Happy now, suckas?!" *high fives self* Flag this | Edit this post |

| Not to mention the price curve on HDTVs is massive. They could cost $500 or they could cost $5000.
Major bias all around. Notice how they include an HDTV for EVERY console, but only a percentage for PC monitors.
I'm a PC gamer all the way, but this kind of reporting helps no one. Flag this | Edit this post |

| No, I always did a clean install for each version change.
I think it may have something to do with my laptop's (the only PC on my network still having trouble) wireless network. Today I loaded 7077 x86 on the laptop and had the same problems on it as 7100 (could see but not access the XP computers). Strange thing is the 64-bit version of 7077 works perfectly on my desktop with a wired connection. I'll try hooking the laptop up to the wired network tomorrow on the off chance it fixes the problem.
