| This is insane. It just adds another link in the chain of variables that screw up one's gaming experience.
Now not only do I have to worry about patches, drivers, and other incompatibilities, I am now also a slave to my ISP. If they are performing maintenance or just having a shitty day, I cannot play my game.
Fuck you, ID. You haven't made a decent game in a decade or more. Flag this | Edit this post |

| This is my favorite Marvel property after X-men, but I wouldn't call myself a super-fan.
I'm looking forward to this simply because I can't stand the original movies anymore. The action is good enough, but any time they actually stop to talk, I want to slit my wrists.
Toby Maguire is a pretty damn dull Peter Parker, IMO.
Also, Hollywood has been out of ideas for years. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Am I the only one who found it strange that they reported on unrated DVDs? I know that unrated versions typically contain more adult content, but has this become official now? Shouldn't unrated movies technically be purchasable by anyone since they don't have a rating?
Is "unrated" different from "not rated"? Flag this | Edit this post |

| That's possible, but I was referring to the period when the console was actually on sale to the consumer.
I don't think the PS360 really had much of an advantage over PCs (I'm talking gaming PCs here, not mainstream Dell boxes) in either hardware or software even during their first year of release. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I must take issue with his first comment; consoles have NEVER been the superior platform. More convenient and mainstream perhaps, but never superior.
This is a bold position to take because the sad reality from the business side of things is PC game development involves more work (because expectations are higher) for less money (because sales will be lower vs. consoles). Now, there are always exceptions, but not many.
As always, I'll believe it when I see it. Here's hopin'. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Even if the Wii is done, you can't deny it was a HUGE success for the company. This is a bit ironic though, since it is the first Nintendo console in 25 years I have not purchased. Flag this | Edit this post |

| OK. I thought they were talking about using the engines from in-game cutscenes to make movies, rather than using traditional studios like Pixar or Dreamworks Animation....
Actually charging money for the cutscenes FROM a game......batshit crazy. Greed, it seems, knows no bounds. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well put, you hit all the important points.
I state it again for emphasis...It was in fucking Africa! Rural Africa! Not a metropolitan center where people from all over the world interact! A tiny, isolated community! What were they expecting to find? The fucking Aryan Brotherhood?!
P.S. Sorry for the language. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm not ruling out a snowjob by PC Gamer because their credibility is suspect in my opinion, but did Stardock violate its own Gamer Bill Of Rights or not? For me, that's the biggest issue here. I hate hypocrisy.
Having to download a bunch of patches at release is better than not having them at all, but it certainly makes me skeptical that the game was in any kind of acceptable state when they boxed it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Several thoughts in response to that video:
1) It doesn't look much better than Crysis
2) They ripped off either the Combine Hunter or those little mech bastards from F.E.A.R. (The RPG looks nearly identical to that game, too)
3) My upgrade budget is going to be overdrawn again. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Goldeneye was memorable for me for two reasons:
1) Everything was destructible! It didn't matter if you shot an office chair, a desk, a coffee mug, or a computer screen; it blew up.
2) Point-specific bullet impacts. If you shot a guy in the hand, the bullet hit his hand and he reacted accordingly. Likewise for the legs, arms, groin, and head. Flag this | Edit this post |
