| where did you come to that conclusion? from the article I read at IGN, they changed nothing on the combat interface as far as the PC goes. you can still set tactics, pause, switch player and micro-manage. The camera system is getting completely retooled for the PC, though it's not ready yet to been seen (while console gets its fixed action camera angle). They commented on the lack of "bird's eye view" angle for the PC though, but personally i zoomed in and spun the camera around how i saw fit and never used the "Baldur's Gate view" except for puzzles. The combat has not been streamlined, its just more polished and not as clunky, but its not a hack'n slash action game by any means.
The conversation wheel has been added Mass Effect style (which i have mixed feelings about), same as the create your own version of the character named "Hawke". Which i also have likes and dislikes. I'm glad I could still decide if I want to be a warrior, rouge,or mage and all of the skills and specializations remain (so my 2H warrior guy can still be created). I'm also glad that my character gets a voice now, I actually was more immersed into Mass Effect when Shepard could talk than my Dalish Elf as he played the silent type. what I dislike is the fact that I can't choose my race anymore, and if they have Mass Effect character customization I'm probably just going to stick with the default Hawke.
Yeah, Bioware is streamlining Dragon Age 2 for the consoles, so it won't play awkward like Origins. but they didn't break the PC version as a whole in Origins (though its still very buggy) like they sorta did with the console versions, so they are making amends on that end. but as far as I can tell are keeping the PC version pretty intact from the first game.
Just my impressions after reading a few articles today. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | They used the Unreal Engine (heavily modified) for Mass Effect 1 and 2 (i would love if they switched to that engine, I think Mass Effect looks great, they just need to keep the same feel from DA:O). But I agree with Trevor311 (look below), I believe a lot of people are overreacting. A lot of information lately is coming from second hand or is a bit misleading, which then is needing to be corrected by Bioware. Which again is being misleading cause its in early development and they are trying not to give away any new features they are adding. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I really believe that the PlayStation (at the beginning of its life) was there just to push the Blu-Ray format. Maybe Sony expected to win both the format war and console war, but I think there main concern was pushing Blu-ray. I personally dont think they expected to be dominate in this generations consoles, but they did put 38 million Blu-ray players and counting into consumers homes around the world alone, so its still a victory (for Sony). I did no research, no statistics finding, this is all purely an opinion. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | "The differences between Blu-Ray and DVD are hard to see on a TV less than 50"...I think he needs glasses. The PS3 is the worst console to get though, high price, lack of games, multiplayer connectivity not up to par with MS, lack of exclusives, the list goes on...great Blu-Ray player though, columnist is grasping at straws with the "can't see a difference" jab. | im just stating what he said in a recent EGM interview. Mr. anonymous is correct though (now that I just reread it), Hideo was talking about the uncompressed audio not all fitting on a single layer blu-ray disc.
I for one have never heard an uncompressed audio track and a compressed one side by side so i cannot state that he was actually "sacrificing" quality because of it. your comment just reminded me of the interview I read, so i decided to share. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | yeah, most if not all of the gameplay that's in WoW has been done countless times before but it has never really been done right. Blizzard took all of those ideas and made them better then anything that was out there, like they do with mostly everything they touch. Don't give me this bullshit that there are 10 million subscribers just because of the license, your making yourself look like an idiot. Flag this | Edit this post |
