Because the games are not good enough for most of the core gaming market. You can't tell me you play your Wii as much as PC or another console. I know I barely touch mine.

They're all too kiddy and lack depth to me. Plus, the best game on the system, zelda, is old and was just as good on the gamecube. Where's the big boy games at? Not necessarily something violent, but something SATISFYING, such as how a good rts or fps can be.

Plus I'm told that with any multi-GPU setup, some games will always have framerate stuttering where one gpu is handling all the work while the other is idle. I know I saw that happen with my 8800gtx's in SLI.

starcraft was just one example. I had it happen often enough that I sold both monitors and just bought a 24 incher for less money. I didn't find it that useful anyway and prefer one big monitor over two smaller ones. To each his own, though.

Looks like I'll be sticking to my dirt cheap e8400 for awhile. OC'ed to 3.6ghz, can't beat that price/performance ratio.

I used dual monitors a few years back and became frustrated by all the things that don't work correctly and never will. For instance, when playing starcraft, the mouse would go to the second screen and minimize my game. What a bunch of crap. I'm a one screen man for life.

From all the previews I've seen, the 4870 x2 seems to be significantly faster than the 280gtx and priced about the same. I was about to buy a 280gtx but now I'm second guessing it. Anyone have any input on my decision? I like the 280gtx because it is pretty quiet, very fast, runs cool, and I already have an Nvidia chipset that supports SLI. Someone make up my mind for me.

I don't know wtf an x2 6800gtx is, but to my knowledge the ps3 has a variation of the 7800gtx, which was released way before the 8800 series.

I vote it's the RAM. I personally have to only install 2gigs during installation and add the other 2gigs once it is up and running. For some reason, Vista's installer crashes consistently for me with more than 2 gigs of RAM. This is with a pre-SP1 install disc.

I saw that they cut the prices, but it's still not enough. Nvidia's still not performing well in terms or price/performance ratio. I haven't had an ATI card since my 9800pro, but I'm very tempted by these 4870s.
