| Codemasters Campzone is the biggest LAN event in the Netherlands as far as I know. But it's not a traditional LAN party. This is more of a campsite where you can bring your own tent and your own PC and hook it up to the network and play games with other people. It is held annually in the summer and lasts 11 days. People come there to play games but also for the fun social atmosphere.
The 2007 edition had about 1750 visitors.
Website is in Dutch though so it might not be of much help to you, Jakub. Link: http://www.codemasterscampzone.nl/ Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hey Knuckles, are we still playing this game? I just discovered these game quizzes and they are a lot of fun.
I have the answer to Sound Sample 46, from Quiz 9: Descent. Pretty sure about that one.
Sound Sample 49 (also Week 9) sound like Streets of Rage music, but I'm not sure. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So the movie is written by Paul W.S. Anderson and directed by this guy. That's not good. Paul W.S. Anderson isn't that bad at directing, but his screenplays suck.
They should've let Anderson (or someone better than him) direct and have the screenplay written by some guy who has actual writing talent. Flag this | Edit this post |

| >> Nope. If guns aren't available legally, then getting them illegally is a whole order of magnitude more complex (most gangs europe-side f.i. can't even get their hands on real guns, and have to go with mockups or alarm guns, which may be "impressive" but are hardly "deadly").
Good point, and a point that gun proponents often overlook. In Holland for example, where I live, most regular punk ass kids wouldn't know how to get their hands on a gun, guns are hard to find, only real hardened criminals know where to look. Because guns are so easily available in the USA legally, many (stolen or with the SN filed off) guns disappear into the illegal market and so illegal guns are very easy to get, much easier than in countries that don't allow legal gun ownership.
EDIT: WTF? I swear I hit the reply button on asdfqwerty's post, not Phirewind's post. Flag this | Edit this post |

| If you think that's a good argument, I invite you to view this cartoon:

Now, you can be a global warming skeptic if you like, but 'Look, it's cold outside so global warming doesn't exist' is just plain stupid, and frankly it baffles me that you're actually making that argument because I know from reading your comments that you're not a stupid person. | Happy birthday! And it's an interesting article.
But I think you got this wrong: 'Getting my very own PC in 1995: It was a Gateway with a 1.6 Ghz Pentium' They didn't have 1.6 Ghz PCs back in 1995. That was when Windows 95 came out and everybody was still stuck with Pentium 1s and maybe early Pentium 2s. 300 Mhz at most. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I'm certainly not a torture fetishist who gets off on movies like Hostel if that's what you're implying. But yeah, I do think torture is by far the worst thing people can do to each other and I care about the well being of humans on this earth so yes, it crosses my mind from time to time. Instead of irrelevantly pointing this out, why not prove me wrong and explain why you think my criticism isn't valid -> I'm asking Bush supporters like yourself and Phirewind to explain why it is certain that this device will never be used to torture people or why it is irrelevant that it will. It will certainly set my mind at ease if you can convince me not to worry about this. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I actually agree with the torture comment. A device that causes inhuman pain levels yet leaves no visible marks and can be used indefinitely without killing the subject? YOU'RE the nutjob if you think that no government on earth is willing to use the device as such, of course it's not going to be official government policy but the Abu Ghraib incidents were also not official government policy yet they did happen, and that wasn't just some random soldiers on a mean streak, they were actually ORDERED by their superiors to abuse those prisoners. You're naive if you think no one's ever going to torture people with this thing. Flag this | Edit this post |
