I got a midterm this Tuesday and I have to catch up on my Japanese class because I have been very sick. So I'll avoid taking time to write another review for prelim 2 if I can. | 3rd rater had to give me a 1 or 3. This only holds true if you gave me an 8 (which I don't doubt) and if Kalleanka gave me a 5 or changed it to a 7. I did the math myself.
This contest just didn't sit well with me. I mean, we have 38 cluster members and the max vote a single picture got was 3.... There is a lot of weight given to these few voters. No one voted for your 2nd pic or Murtogh's either. There was a slightly better voter turnout for the 1st half of the contest (getting the beta key). I just don't like the idea of this much voting power on a single person who can be looking for different elements in the screenshot which would result in a huge impact.
Anyways, if the FS Admins already awarded you the prize, then none of this matters. I just hope future contests see a larger voter turnout. Congrats on the win. Landing a walker on a building was very original. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I really hope you are joking because I think that the whole rating thing was screwed. Kalleanka admitted to making a mistake in the score and rated me lower. I don't even know if she changed the score or not. If she did, then the 3rd rater gave me a score of 1. I don't believe my pic deserves a 1. Mathamatically, that would give me a 53.3%, which is what I got. Or he/she didn't change it, in which the 3rd rater gave me a 3. This would also end up in a score of 53.3%
FS Member ratings have a huge impact since there were only a total of 3 ratings submitted... Admins, please make your votes and put more weight on yours like you do for the other contests.
If FS admins really thought your picture was the best, then I'm cool with that. Flag this | Edit this post |

Either way, it was still a pretty big mistake. Rating WigoJ and my picture incorrectly. I don't see how you could have mistakenly chose the wrong score twice.
Oh well, there is nothing that can be done now.
Hopefully, this contest is also rated by the admins with their score being a little bit more weighted than member scores. That might solve the problem. Flag this | Edit this post |

That is a good point about the black hole screen that could be seen numerous times else where. But there aren't that many super weapons in the game. I think the Masari creates some sort of rain storm, but I personally think that it doesn't look as cool as the black hole. Then the other faction has like falling debris (besides the Walkers).... I didn't think that looked worthy enough for a submission.
Like I have stated earlier, I have nothing against your pic. I was just questioning Kaleanka's reasons for giving you such a high score. Her reasons were the smoke effect and great quality (I assume graphical quality), both of which are in my screen shot too. Does that warrant a 40% difference between the score she gave you and me?

| I hope the submissions are rated by admins too. I for one don't understand my low score (at the time of writing this).
1st rating: 50%
2nd rating: 10%
Which gives me an overall of 30%....
Am I crazy or are people here harsh raters? Is it possible that some people are making multiple accounts to rate the competition lower? Flag this | Edit this post |

There are only TWO black hole screenshots and I was the first to post one up.
Yet you give a 9/10 to WigoJ with a pic of a Walker landing on a building and because of the smoke effect. What about the smoke effect (dust/dirt) being sucked into the black hole in my pick? How about more points for the Walker in my pic because it is fully upgraded? What about the logic of WigoJ's submission being another Walker pic (3rd one)?
I have nothing against WigoJ or his submission. I'm just questioning the rating of Kalleanka here. Does anyone think I have a valid point here?
