| Again, what do you want me to do? I didn't experience these problems first hand when I was doing my review. I'm not going to talk about game issues in a from other publications' reviews I can't personally replicate.

| Unfortunately, kind of. I jumped on Friday morning to try out the new maps and there was NO ONE playing. Not a single server. A shame. If it had dedicated server support, it might of had a chance...

| I played through the multiplayer last week when there was no issue. At the time they were reportedly having server problems, I was writing my review. When I attempted to jump online after, I had no problems connecting. So I submitted my review afterwards, with nothing to report. In short, there was an issue and Stardock fixed it quickly enough before it became a problem.
What the hell do you want me to do? Dock them points for being proactive about a problem I didn't experience that they were quick to resolve?

| Bah, you're only beating me by a few years. I was a freshman when Quake came out, but didn't get into PC gaming for at least a year afterwards.
It is interesting to see how PC gaming has evolved over the past 12 years since I really got into it.
My first PC games were Quake and Interstate '76...and I still maintain we are due for a decent remake of the latter.

| | Stereo is 2 channel, meaning you have a left and right only. 5.1 is 6-channel, so you have center, left, right, rear right, rear left. Audio comes from different directions more accurately. Essential for games and movies, so you can hear where people are coming from. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, can't believe the price hasn't dropped on it yet. Maybe with this announcement, you'll finally a sale.
I loved CoD 4, so I hope this one lives up to that. I can't imagine how they are going to top the AC-130 level though, hehe.

| As far as I know, they are the first to offer it directly as a case feature to consumers. Voodoo's Omen did it and the BFG Phobos systems use a proprietary case that also has it.
I certainly hope Silverstone implements it into more cases.

| There was no to minimal difference in CPU load. You are correct, most audio work is offloaded to the audio stack which is loaded through the processor. IF there environmental effects (such as with EAX), then you might have seen a notable difference, but Vista doesn't work that way anymore. Sorry, I should have clarified that.
You can get 5.1 audio without EAX, but only if the game's audio system is rendered in positional. EAX adds special commands that relate to environmental effects, such as echo and reverb, as well as positional audio.
A lot of developers (Valve, Infinity Ward, Relic, etc etc)use proprietary audio engines to render positional and do not rely on 3rd party systems such as EAX. Others use OpenAL which the X-Fi (and many other manufacterers, hence the 'open' in OpenAL) support. Thanks man!
