| Probably why his scared little arse had to make a new account to post. I come here to check out the news, quickly and efficiently. That's no longer possible. Whether the site ends or not isn't my concern. Getting the news is.

| Wow, so you bought a 9600GT a year ago? 11 months before it was released? No wonder you get such good prices, you must have some kicka$$ connections...
Honestly though, having that much CPU with a mid-range card is a waste, shifting some of that budget from the CPU to the GPU would've resulted in substantial gains. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yeah, but who would be dumb enough to buy one of these players when you can get a PS3 for less? That has all of these features already. Oooh, the $500 one will have a browser, big whoop, the PS3 has a browser Wifi, so much more. The pricing on these is stupid. But maybe it's Sony's plan to help themselves sell more PS3's, it sure makes the PS3 seem like a great value. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | We could also mention that PS3 already outsold X360 for the month of January, 269k units to 230k units, but that would just be rubbing it in. Besides Yoshi consistently overlooks things like facts. I swear, I think he really is that Iraqi PR director who kept stating that Saddam's troops were winning the war, even as US tanks rolled into Baghdad. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I fully agree with DB's review. What's frustrating is that you don't get better in the game by increasing your skill, instead it's just by grinding and making your character more powerful. I realize this is the essence of most RPGs, and when I was younger I really enjoyed playing MUDs (this was before Mosaic). However, now I prefer a game where I can do better because I move faster, react quicker, have a better strategy, not just because I've spent more time grinding. It amazes me how much time people spend making this senseless collection of bits, their character, more powerful. They spend so much time improving their character, I'd say 20hrs/week is average, and it really amounts to nothing. Imagine if you spent 20 hours/week doing almost anything in RL. That's about how much time the average pro mountain bike racer trains each week. If you played guitar 20 hours/week, you'd be ripping it up and able to play out in gigs in about 6 months. You could have time to play an instrument a more reasonable amount, say an hour a day, 7 hours a week, and have time to work out twice a week for an hour each time, and still have 11 extra hours to hang out with real friends, or maybe kickass in school so you can get a scholarship and not have to work your way through college. All real accomplishments that carry with them real rewards, both physically, mentally, and financially. Meanwhile, with WOW you have only a virtual accomplishment, which while initially satisfying, means nothing in the real world. While you're playing WOW, you realize this, but you try to stuff it to the back of your head, because you want to get to that next level, and that false and easy feeling of accomplishment that doesn't really satisfy; and because you know you're just wasting time to avoid RL, your self-esteem in RL sinks even more, so you look to WOW for that false boost even more so, and further neglect RL.
This of course doesn't apply to every single WOW player, I imagine there are a few who can play it casually. But the game is designed to get you hooked and it rewards the players who play more, not necessarily play better, but more. The majority of WOW players exhibit signs of addiction that most people would easily recognize and acknowledge if it were gambling or something like that. But most of the comments from those bashing this review are simply from people in denial. Flag this | Edit this post |

| cry, cry, cry.... Of course it will help PS3 sales, just as the inclusion of a DVD player helped PS2 sales. It makes it easier for parents, or any buyers, to justify the cost, knowing that they're getting a high def movie player included. Most importantly, a high def movie player of the format that won the war. Blu-ray.
I'm glad I already got my 80GB PS3 though, as backwards compatibility was important to me. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I love how you guys conveniently ignore that the war was decided by consumers when they were buying BR movies over HD-DVD at a rate of 2:1. You just whine, wahhh, big corporations made the choice. Do you think Warner Bros would have switched to BR exclusive if HD-DVD had been leading sales 2:1? You made the wrong choice, now get over it. | So that picture in picture for director commentary really means so much to you.
Note:PS3, the cheapest Blu-ray player out is upgradeable to 2.0. If you're buying any other BR player, it must be assumed that you are uninformed, or just stupid. I think anyone buying a BR player on this forum would likely just be getting a PS3. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I have to agree, my neighbor just got his fourth warranty 360 console back. He hooks it up and it says it requires a software update (you'd think Microsoft would have done that). So he lets it update, and then it still doesn't even work. He looks at the manufacture date on it, and it's March 2006, that's almost two years old. They're not even sending out new consoles for the warranty issues, it's like they're just sending out other peoples broken ones. That's ridiculous. Meanwhile, that means another month before his kid can play any games, because Microsoft's turnaround time isn't all that great (ship return box to you, you put unit in box and ship back to microsoft, they have it a week, and then finally ship it back to you). I told him to just drop it and get a PS3, and once he gets back a 360 that finally works just sell it on Ebay. I would be pissed if I was going through that. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Oh, they all heard you what you said. You're just dumb, is what they were saying.
I usually forget the subtitles are even there within 10 minutes into a movie, you just read them without even noticing. Besides the language and sound is part of the texture and setting of the film. I prefer subtitles to watching a badly dubbed film. Maybe be the DVD will have an english voice track for those whose reading skills can't keep up with the scorching pace of the subtitles... | | No, PC games are really good, the good games are interspersed through that list. It's the people buying them that have gone down in quality. I think it started the year that Deer Hunter made it up to the #1 spot. That's why Sims2 Bon Voyage can outsell Orange Box. At least UT3 isn't getting it's a$$ kicked by Nancy Drew or something... Oh wait, nevermind. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Holy crap! A sensible question from Yoshi!
I would agree, considering how many PS2s Sony sold this holiday season. Of course people who bought new PS2s have pretty much thrown their hat into the ring as not being interested (or able financially) in buying a PS3, or they would have ponied up 2.5X the amount they did. Hmmm... Good question though. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | You can already get the PS3 for $299 at sonystyledotcom (and with free shipping) if you sign up for a sony visa. It's a good deal. I agree $60 is too much for games, last week Target had Assasin's Creed on sale for only $38 though, so sometimes there are specials. Flag this | Edit this post |
