| I feel like I sold my soul to the devil because the Orange Box is published by EA (hate them) and the games are delivered via Steam (hate DRM).
But darn it all, Portal is awesome, Ep2 continues the epic story, and TF2 is just plain quick and dirty fun! All for the low price of $37.99 at Circuit City last week. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Microsoft needs to lose the Core model like now. Also, don't charge $80-$90 for a wireless adapter. Just eat it and have wireless built in. Finally, hard drive space is cheap, so the premium unit should have at least 60GB and the Elite should be bumped to 160GB+ for such a price premium. At least the SKUs worth mentioning now have HDMI, so they got one thing right now.
As for Sony, reduce price, keep the emotion engine hardware, get some rumble back in the controllers...ah never mind, you messed up this go around completely.
Nintendo...great job as always! Flag this | Edit this post |

| » They just don't get it?! The graphics already look dated on the Wii. People are buying this console because it has exclusive content, the content is fun, the price is cheaper, and the games are easily accessible to even previous non-gamers; not because of the super-uber graphics. | I think these retail "packages" are a completely sleazy way of making sure that retail boxed products don't undercut the prices charged directly on Steam.
In the past HL2, EP1, Sin Emergence etc. were always cheaper to get at retail at one point or another. If there is only one product that contains a package of games available at retail, then the masses who already have HL2 et. al. will be forced to buy EP2, TF2 directly through Steam. It makes business sense on paper I'm sure, but I hope there is a serious consumer backlash which makes them alter their business model. Flag this | Edit this post |

| How about:
3) Make it extremely annoying (not to mention expensive) to be a PC gamer by requiring new hardware and software (Vista), thus providing the incentive for the PC gamer to just buy an xBox 360. Let's not forget that Vista borks EAX support too. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Actually, I'd rather it have its own dedicated power supply. No more of this 1kw business in my PC thank you very much. It would be nice to only turn it on when you need it and have a much lower power card for regular light duty stuff. Flag this | Edit this post |
