| | Hey Knuckles! I want to thank you for all of your comments -- not just on my stuff but for all the entries in the contest. You've offered myself and others some great criticisms. Thanks. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Oh my god Dave, I almost had a heart-attack. So I'm editing my article right, like 20 mins before the deadline, and I checked some fact on some webpage, and then went back to the tab were I was editing my article, and then -- poof! The thing disappears. I don't know what happened. I closed some tabs because I had about 15 open... and somehow I not only erased my edits but also my entry just totally vanished! But it turned out okay... I had enough time to repost it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | 50% ! Ouch.. Who was that? Ah well. Here is my article. I made it kind of less-than-serious, just as an alternative to the very high-quality, but somewhat conventional and standard other entries in the contest. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Not going to be me! I'm taking off for the weekend, on a long-planned expedition to Vancouver Island. I'm thinking Tuesday will be the day for me to submit. Have a good weekend everybody! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Ya, that is true. Guess I'm just concerned about somebody winning the contest through extreme voting measures rather than having the best entry. I suppose I shouldn't worry too much about it. Its just with so much on the line, I predict there may be some voting tom-foolery going on. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Oh readership voting I think is a great idea. That makes sense and should stay, for sure. I'm just saying that most of us (if not all of us), are kind of required, at this point in the contest, to get all our friends and stuff to vote for us, just to balance stuff out. I expect also that someone, or a few people, in this round will get a zillion friends (who would not otherwise be at the website, and have no knowledge of the subjects) to vote for them, thus artificially inflating the votes. It just seems to me that we should be judged by the judges and the firing squad community, not, instead, judged partially by drop-in strangers, who are just trying to help out friends, and may not know a motherboard from a bored mother.
The whole element of calculated down-voting of other entries comes into what I am saying as well... Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I think so. I, personally, wish it wasn't like that for the final rounds. I guess public voting isn't all that much of the final score, but I wish it was just up to the judges. That way, all of us would not be forced to recruit every friend and family member we know to artificially inflate the votes 8) ! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | No hardware review? Well, as much as I'd like to receive free hardware, I kind of prefer this situation more. I was really wondering how you could make a stand-out entry of a straight hardware review. Having a more open-ended round makes for a better competition, me thinks. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I have Debian OS on my computer but don't use it very much. Good OS though. I ran Suse for about a year. Didn't end up using that much either. Man, getting my 9200 radeon working on SuSe took quite the herculean effort. Flag this | Edit this post |
