| As an observant bystander, I have to say that I am quite impressed with your work in Finite Math Knuckles. No idea what you do for a living or who you are, but I do know that there are companies who would be very appreciative of your abilities if you can manage to link up with them.
If you enjoy this work as much as you seem to, stick with it, you are quite exceptional. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Without question, the pattern of downvoting changed immediately after your first post on the subject Buc. It went from being a virtual onslaught that was easily observable, and trackable, to a greatly reduced, one this hour, then nothing, than five's a few hours later etc.
Some of that of course is people's honest opinion, but I don't think very much of it is to be honest.
So yes, you did effect a postive change, and it was welcome.
The judges have indicated that they are aware of the practice, and I imagine that they are just as angry about it as the rest of us.
Anyway, a nice respite, and let's hope that's the end of it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hey Canada Dave.
Liked this, very, very, much. You have a consistent, and personable writing style.
It feels as though you are addressing the reader directly.
Solid work on the overclocking section, as well as explaining the processes and component interactions as you went along.
Lots of useful information gleened from this, good stuff.
A nod to the FSB/Multiplier relationship enlightenment, and Kudos on the tri boot set up, (lots of additional hours for sure) the extra effort that it took pays off when reading the performance section.
Great article, congrats! Flag this | Edit this post |

| Nice work Canada Dave.
Thorough, interesting, well written. Clearly a lot of time and effort.

| If you follow the voting patterns it's pretty clear that neither Dave, nor Buc, nor Daugwok has benefited from the increased voting today, quite the opposite in fact. They have all lost ground, Dave by far the most, of anyone in the competition.
I do hope that the person(s) behind the downvoting realize(s) that of course, the Editors can not only track voting patterns, but email and I.P. addresses. They are excruciatingly aware of not only what is happening, but who is behaving this way.
IMO, the very last person that will ever be allowed to write for "Firing Squad" is someone whom they fear will hurt the publications hard won reputation for legitimacy, and integrity.
The publication cannot, and will not take a chance on a person with questionable ethics.
Edit: I believe that all that someone did today, was to make the judges final decision a lot simpler. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Not a bad idea cbutters, but still doesn't solve the problem.
Knuckles is on top of it stats wise, and the downvoting pattern, who benefits, who loses, what's clearly happening, is incredibly simple to track with a minor bit of charting.
Nothing nearly as complicated, or difficult, as the research that you guys did for your articles.
I liked Dave's suggestion last round and think that it would solve the problem.
Make all voting public.
That would absolutely stop people of ill will by exposing who they vote for, and how they voted.
Another very good suggestion, is that anyone voting for a competitor cannot score anyone else less than 70% of whoever they gave the highest mark to.
Doing so would automatically negate all voting by that person.
Yes, there could still be minor downvoting, but, it would hardly be worthwhile, as the person downvoted against would pick up the additional vote count offsetting the downvote.
I like that.
The truth is, the submissions at this level are all so good that no one should be getting a vote below 5 or 6 in this round,
Period.
Sorry to vent guys, I just hate seeing hard work denigrated by some loser. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Outstanding work guys, I can only guess at the hours that each of you put in.
It must have been stagering.
Just wanted you to know how much I appreciated your efforts, and have enjoyed reading each of your articles.
Several are publish grade material now, both in research, and presentation. I hope that those who do AND those who do not advance will stay with this.
You're all talented, and clearly dedicated.
Many thanks. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Solid work Dave, well researched, beautifully articulated. Must have been many, many hours of hard work.
It shows, and you should be proud! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Enjoyed the article, but a really big topic. To be honest, it could have been twice as long and still not have covered all aspects of the syndrome in relation to gaming. Good effort, liked the structure. I hope that you get through to the next round. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Nicely done.
The point here being that marketing people make a living by upselling those who are into the genre, particularly those who would like the best, but who rely upon the advice of "professionals" in order to determine how best to lay out their cash.
A reality check, and a dose of truth, (your submission) might help someone decide between a needless hardware purchase or paying the Visa this month.
Well done and thanks. Flag this | Edit this post |
