| I dont feel bad at all. We didn't walk away empty handed, we demonstrated we were in the upper echelon in terms of writing of the firing squad readers, which are generally a group of very well educated people.
My writing skills improved dramatically, and this sort of deadline writing also will be useful when searching for a real life job.
The people that made it definately deserved it more than me, but I can say I definately deserve this position more than I did when I started writing my first article, and as long as I can say that
I'm happy.
DONT BE SAD YOU ALL DID GREAT>.> Flag this | Edit this post |

| actually yeah, for this article, I really didnt revise it too much.
Whereas this article has generally been received as content intensive, the other one was rated high for its grammatical structure. I would have liked to edit it more
But alas, the deadline was tight. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Your article is poorly articulated, badly worded, horribly structured and also has NO point whatsoever. Your poor defense in your comments doesn't make sense. First of all, you are preaching to future game developers, which are not likely to give half a care about your article and have likely already formulated what they've wanted to design in their heads.
You seem to have written the article and THEN thought of a reason the article should be valid for the competition.
An extra side note: You might want to be careful NOT insulting more than half the human population when writing your reviews.
a joke

| Certainly, many of us fall under the lurker category. However, just because people have low post counts, it should not call into question their ability to write and commit. Obviously some of us just half assed the contest and submitted it, however, a lot of us tried the hardest.
Remember, this contest is about discovering the best writers, not anything else, and if you look at it that way, post count doesn't matter at -all-. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Im not sure whether or not this is relevant to the contest guidelines.
Regarding your quip regarding the 1 votes, yes it is a disturbing trend. Most people that vote here are either voting 10 for their buddies or 1 for their enemies. Sad, but true. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The article is just long enough for me to keep my full attention for an M-blog, non professional review. In a real review, I would expect you to go a little bit more indepth. For example, audio could go into the lows and highs of the sound quality in terms of pitch. Further more you fail to rate the "important" things, such as USB orientation and the orientation of the headphone jacks etc (I'm assuming thats what you are talking about, not the actual headphones and mice themselves)
Also, deviating from the traditional review format may not always be a good thing. There are a reason benchmarks are used in reviews, ya' know? Though I suspect it may have been because you lacked the proper software to create a good benchmark.
Never the less, some FPS ratings could have helped. Referring to another online editorial may not be the best course of action either.
However, overall the review was fairly straightforward, and aside from the noticeable omission of benchmarks and comparisons, quite informative. As usual, small grammar mistakes detract from the overall flow of the review, but that is all easily fixed

| | I won't even rate this in its current form. This should be disqualified, please stick to contest guidelines. Post the contents of the article on the blog itself, and then display the picture on the side if you want the editors to see your formatting skills. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sure, if I were to grade on the content of the article rather than the style, grammar, and construction, you probably would have gotten a higher score.
I'm not a native english speaker either, so I understand the difficulty that you are facing.
As a blog this would be fine, but if you are trying to make it as editor of one of the most prestigious online gaming websites then this just doesn't cut it
I'm not trying to be caustic or mean, just pointing out the things that you really need to improve on for your article to even stand a chance.

| What the heck? Fighting on the same maps killing the same terrorists and armies over and over again? Getting killed by people called 133tPwnz0rs?
All games from all genres require the player to suspend his or her feeling of disbelief.
Your article was amusing however, and fairly well written.

Basically, your spelling and grammar was so horrendous that even I (someone that is horrible with grammar) was appalled.
First of all, you seem to have written this article and not edited it at all. Second, you frequently go off on tangents that have nothing to do with your section title. The main points of your article are not brought up until more than half of the article is over. Third, the afformentioned grammar and internet acronyms are simply ridiculous. | It's not that you are a bad writer, its just the fact that you don't seem to care about this contest or the article itself, enough to edit it for grammatical and punctuation errors. For me that just shows alot about your commitment/interest
Your writing style is not bad, but perhaps its not fit for a hardcore gaming editorial
