| | Yeah keep dreaming. I can't get the 64-bit version to work either (experienced the usual crash when you hit the water after losing your chute). I pre-ordered anyway but I think it's gonna tank on release. That's why I'm waiting for Nvidia's new GPU's next month (assuming they are coming out) and not dropping $200-$250 for an 8800GT when it's not gonna run the game maxed out...Although 1680x1050 with 4xAA is the same as 1280x1024 with no AA at split settings (med. and high) on my rig. | Indeed but at the time, X2's and X1900's were certainly not mid-range, and all I'm saying is neither are the new sets of hardware that are on their way.
The new line of CPU's have a chance to hit over 30,000 3DMarks in 3DMark06. The current CPU that does than is the Quad Extreme QX6850 on a Striker Extreme with at least one 8800 Ultra. And it's not even a native Quad Core chip! Flag this | Edit this post |

| I played Obliv just fine out of the box with an X1900 and socket 939 X2...I would expect the new line of chips from both AMD and Intel plus Nvidia's new video cards to be able to handle the game just fine.
Of course we are talking a brand new X38 mobo (around $300), a PCI-e 2.0 video card (gonna be about another $4-$700) and a new CPU, depending on how much you want to spend will range from $200 all the way up to over $1,000. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Umm..how about we stick with gaming tradition and not put ads in our games and pay $60?
That's utter bullshit to have to pay frickin $70 to not have ads. Only EA is dumb enough to play this crap card...or maybe Ubisoft....haven't heard much out of them lately. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | IMO the big hit will indeed be PCI-e 2.0, since the new cards are switching technologies. Basically, anyone who buys a brand-spanking new v-card with only a PCI-e 1.1 or 1.0, then they are going to be bottlenecking themselves. Kind of ironic eh? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | How do you figure consoles are more powerful than PC's? That's just ignorant. PC's have infinitely more video and system RAM to work with when being developed. Take a look at Grand Theft Auto Vice City for PS2 and PC. Games look and run much better on PC about 98% of the time. Flag this | Edit this post |
