| | Apparently he presented his green card to the gun shop and he walked out with a spankin new 9mm Glock hand gun. While this may be legal, VA gun laws are obviously going to come under serious review. The thing about filing off the numbers, well, maybe he figured he wouldn't be caught somehow. I heard psychologists talking about the "immortality feeling" and how he may have felt like no one could touch him because he had the gun. Perhaps when he was near capture is when he decided he was done for and ended it all. Who knows, he was another messed up kid who happened to have a nasty dark side to him, and everyone saw it in this event. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Once again I agree with WallShadows, I am glad to see someone that doesn't blame games. What are the odds that someone who played GTA4 would go on a 33 person killing spree? Goofus was also right in saying the kid had mental issues. Just look at his writing. Every one of his plays featured planned murder, death, shooting, rape, and various other violent assaults. This event was due to past events, building up inside of his head. Anything could have caused him to snap.
Also, there was evidence of a possible love interest with his first target. Like they said on Prime Time last night, he might have been denied by this girl or something, who knows. It could have been a "doomed to fail" situation. The kid probably did not play CS or GTA or any games at all. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I also agree with this, they SHOULD institute, if not armed guards, weapons of some type to a firearm-trained professional that can handle stuff like this before the gunner can even blink. But no, no one freakin learns, lets all continue blaming video games and the parents. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I agree 100%. By the way, I also thought to myself that someone would blame this on a violent video game too. Of course it is going to happen. What if we didnt have games? Then they would simply blame this crap on violent tv, movies, etc. Its just a blame game. F*ck you Jack Thompson! Flag this | Edit this post |

| I know this is an old article but to answer your question, just download and run FRAPS while you are playing the game, and it will display your current framerate in a selected corner of your screen.
www.fraps.com
Minimal background memory usage, you can also take 30 FPS videos with it. Very useful tool. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Congrats to you all, I enjoyed all of your entries. To the finalists, duke it out to the max! I agree with JCal, I learned things from all of your entries (DHzer0point drivers) and agreed with others (nut shots are mans biggest fear). Seriously Dave, Vandy, excellent job, and play nice in the finals! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Hmm, Im thinking of Pirates of the Caribbean..maybe they will go for something like that, but like you said, Im sure they will take the whole sand thing for blood, but I mean, there have been few or no good game-based movies, at least as far as I see, disagree if you like. (Doom movie anyone?) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | You can stop sub 17 year old gamers from buying games from stores, but not from playing them. Its up to parents to make sure the games dont get into their kids hands, so like Kessandra said, the ESRB is doing their job when no one else would. At least they are trying. | | So dont play MP then. Ask anyone, Vista is junk and everyone I know that has it has problems with drivers and game compatiblity, its a proven fact that many games have problems with Vista, so I guess no one knows what they are talking about. As far as this game goes, no one told you you had to play it, I have about 98% problem free gaming and I am very happy with my purchase. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I have almost your identical setup, except with an X1900XTX 512 and X2-4800+ @2.4 ghz but the 2 gigs OCZ is the same, and it runs like a dream, only the main problem being the 2 or 3 second lag problems, which is a game thing, so yeah its Vista cuz XP is fine IMO Flag this | Edit this post |
