| Oh snap, they're not just gonna talk about it forever, They're actually gonna do it!
And holy shiz balls with Crysis, I knew it was a hog but man it even brings 3 Ultras to its knees. I'm in awe at that.
Games a beast, BEAST I SAY! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | XP sp2 for now. Got a buddy running Vista Ultimate, once he gives me the low down after about 4-6mths I might consider dropping it on my new machine (if i can afford it) but only for DX10 Flag this | Edit this post |

| Granted it wasn't the brightest idea but it was done in a safe manner and environment, point being the whole thing was blown out of proportion in a way it shouldn't have and I'm just trying to relate to this poor chap here.
And yes I'm much older now with children of my own, and I would kindly ask you not to mock my intelligence as its just rather rude and uncouth.
"How did you get gun powder at 12"
Older friend gave it to me, was only like half a can or something. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Not quite but close The whole of it does use SOME of the technology. Game still has stuff that breaks apart and what not but not to the extent that it could if you plugged on of these on and had the whole game reprogramed.
To get the full blown demonstration of what it really does you have to download the PhysX modded levels. One has a tornado in it! They are very impressive. Saw this one video where the tornado tore through an entire building shredding it to pieces.
Thats a multiplayer lvl btw, thats just plain hardcore. Flag this | Edit this post |

| There has been such talk of this around the net. Not sure where Ageia stands on it, or how that would even work on the already very large GPU's being released as of yet. Also with only a few gaming company's on board (albeit some are very large names) its hard to say where Nvidia would stand as far as engineering a new type of GPU/PPU combo board.
I don't really mind the extra buck for a new piece of hardware cause at current most PhysX settings are completely optional and you only get impoved perform and splendor when it's enabled.
Kinda like buying a 8500 and running Crysis on low res for $100 instead of buying a 8800 GTS 512 for $300 and running on high res.
Pay more money for better perfomance, we have been doing it for years. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Right since I was totally at fault for wanting to blow crap up when I was 12, and since I didn't make any threats to anyone nor had any malicious intent. Makes me a terrible person. Thank you for reminding me of all the ridicule I received over the years for such a nonsense thing as having gunpowder in my closet. I'm touched.
I's aint gots so much of er brains up der now does I.
This is what one gets for expressing empathy for a person in shoes once the size of their own.

| » Oh the pain! I can relate to this poor bastard. When I was in Jr. High I had made some small explosives out of pop bottle lids, blowing up all my old toys for shits. My dad found my gunpowder in my closet one day and called the cops. They replied "Do you think he took any of this to school" and of course the dumb schmuck replied "Yes."
All told they ended up evacuating the school and calling in the bomb squad and I got arrested. All without me not even ever saying to anyone that I was going to do anything aside blow up some G.I.Joes at home, think I told maybe 2 friends and invited them to come over after school, they more than willing accepted the offer. It was a task to blow apart a Hotwheel let alone a school. (G.I.Joes sure go kaboom though)
So ya law enforcement is way paranoid about this kind of stuff and that poor kid is going to be labeled for life as crazy that wants to cause trouble, even though he had no intention what so ever of causing anyone harm.
My heart goes out to you Allieu Shaw. Hope they handle this quickly so you can get on with your life. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I hear ya there, I run Crysis at low as possible settings when playing online, and it runs just fine, you will rarely see me not on the top of the score boards. Even then if I'm lower on the board its probably some match where I'm off checking something out.
Thing is it still looks great, not as great as higher settings, but still damn good. People need to wizen up.
If I try to run the game on high settings WITHOUT any AA its ridiculous, and normally I go blue screen after about 5 mins of it.
Crysis is an awesome game that totally deserves the rating of #2 or even #1, what really bugs me is it didn't even rank on the Yearly Top Ten. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Why does this list not surprise me at all. 60% of the list is The Sims and WoW. Go MMO's.
The real problem with the list though is Crysis isn't #1. Cod4 is a tight game but there was no long wait for it. Crysis has been a long time coming.
People should know better. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Don't hate! Cheer on your peers! No one really "NEEDS" an Ultimate Gaming platform valued around $5000. I mean the machines are straight overkill, they are however very nice to have, if you can afford it or are lucky enough to win one.
It would be nice to see the actual rig go out to someone "in need", as in poor or like us where we give to the people but never see any kindness shown back.
The first Mobo-Gpu combo went out to such a person, and when I saw the poem I knew that would be the second winner for creativity. Gotta give people props for that, but then usually those people tend to be doing alright in life in the first place and don't really "need" anything.
I personally was hoping to have an inkling of a chance at the the Mobo-Gpu combo cause that would thrill the likes of me.
The Ultimate Gaming rig is out of my reach and I knew that before I even entered. Luck doesn't swing that way where I come from. It's something you come to terms with over time.
I'm really hoping for that cooling system so I can get rid of this stupid 16" house fan. That one might actually be within my grasp.
But Good luck to you and all the others out there that might never have the chance of day to ever even set eyes on a machine like this, let alone own one. I'm standing there with ya waiting anxiously to hear the verdicts! Flag this | Edit this post |

Thanks for the comment Sonicblastoise and the recommended monitors. Its a great idea to have a awesome HDTV coupled with an average monitor for many reason which should be obvious to most.
Lets hear some more from some other users and find Joe that perfect solution and hopefully answer some questions for the rest of the eager hopefuls looking for a good monitor solution! Flag this | Edit this post |

| Idk what aliens you were fighting but those things gave me a run for my money on the first encounters. Sure so they cant aim, can still charge you pretty hard. Ending did leave me yelling and cursing cliff hangers. 1 more hr and using the nuke on the island was all I asked.
I love the Power Struggle Mode of the multi-player, so much that you will rarely find me not on the top 3 for a match. I thought this could have had a little bit more mention. Complicated but in such a good way. Flag this | Edit this post |
