| Technically well done my friend. You obviously know your AE stuff, but not wanting to touch the topic 'montage' coz I think there's nothing wrong with it, I must agree with dogstew when I say; 'could have used a little more spunk'
Good entry nonetheless. 7/10 +1 against down-raters, which still seem to be spanking me to date :D Flag this | Edit this post |

| Not bad, but I didn't see anything that would make it stand out to be honest. Only a 6 from me, sry.
PS: You will still have to find a way to compress your video down and upload it here to be eligible as an entry. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Got the soundtrack... great stuff. I always listen to soundtracks and orchestral music when I'm doing 'creative' work.
Personal favorite is Hans Zimmer's Pirates of the Caribbean, which happened to be what I was listening to when I created my vid :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Funny and well done. Very commercial-channel-like... then again, maybe that was the point.
Good luck with the toddler there buddy ;)
For the record: 7/10 from me +1 against down-raters ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Sure, I've read the rules and stuff... but I wasn't actually just referring to my own entry. There are a bunch of other entries that have clearly been down-rated. I just think it's not fair to them, no more then it is to me. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | In all honesty,... all this deliberate down-rating of good entries is just ridiculous. Seriously hope the judges will take that into account and ignore user-ratings all together. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Maybe it is... I don't know. I just thought it fitting. To be able to 'crank that shit up' is just sick. And I'm down with that type of sickness! ;)
(if that made any sense at all :D ) Flag this | Edit this post |

| I fully understand that point and feel it myself too. I had another concept myself, which I unfortunately am not able to do... but it's a bit hard to do much else.
There are things that could be done, but I don't think it should be held against us. The content of a montage can be just as creative as something else.
Maybe overall, the contest may be lacking variety, but the individual submissions do show different messages and I like some of them, including yours ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm sure that some may want to see more creativity or better said variety within the contest and I agree. Perhaps something different would have been more fun to watch, but it wasn't within reach for me to do, unfortunately.
I would have loved to do another different type of entry, but time has run out for that I believe, unless I wake up tomorrow and figure out how to realize my vision in a day or so :D
I do believe that people seem overlook the concept or the message embedded in the special FX. It's not about the games or game-play itself and though related, it's first and foremost about 3Dvision and 3Dsurround gaming.
How 'I would use GeForce to crank that s#!t up'
Nonetheless, I can respect other people's oppinion and thank you for the honest feedback. All I can do is get better from here.
After all... it's my first ever contest entry and special-fx project. Flag this | Edit this post |

| hehe... true true. :D
Only regret I didn't have enough time to figure out how to trick a few more games to do the same. Would have been sweet to see Metro2033 at tri-screen, don't you think? :D Flag this | Edit this post |

| You almost hit the nail there :)
But yes, 'fixed_time_step' is the clue here, although 0.01666 is actually 1/6th of realtime. 0.03333 is 1/3rd of realtime and thus for for 30fps. So I recorded for 60fps and did slow-mo in After Effects :)
There's simply no other way for me to do it. As I could never play properly at real-time with enough fps on a tri-screen resolution, let alone capture. Nice to see you quickly done homework. Google FTW ey? :D
And sure... who knows what we could come up with. I love new challenges ;) Flag this | Edit this post |
