Is there any way to get the past/ x1900xtx to work with the recent crossfire card?

When is this card going to become widely available? I can't find any listed on Pricegrabber. Newegg has one but the price is $299.99! So much for a $200 card.

Still don't see the use of testing a middle of the road $200 card with a $1000 cpu.

Not one person on the planet that is in the market for this card will have a dual core extreme 6800 core 2 duo cpu. Well except for every site that reviews the cards. :P

The performance gains between the vidcards in your tests are completely exagerated for 99.5% of the gaming population because that's the percentage of gamers that don't own a $1000 cpu.

Every vidcard under the top model should also be tested on a lower end cpu. An Athlon 64 3200 for instance. Why? Well that's because that's what most folks own. Something in that range. That way that get a better idea if they'll actually gain something from the card.

Halve the number of games you test and do the tests on the remaining games again on a low-end platform. No use testing alot of games if you're results are meaningless to the vast majority of gamers out there.

Hell skip the $1000 cpu test system all together on any card in the under the top end line of vidcards. Your results would be alot less theoretical and way more practical.

» This is to eliminate CPU bottlenecks.
The reason why they test the GPU with the most powerful CPU hardware available, is to make sure there is nothing hindering the performance of the GPU and to keep all other factors constant besides the GPU.

That way they don't violate the law of the scientific method.

You could ask that they do a "realistic gaming performance" review, but that is for another time.

This way you can see how this GPU scales in realtion to others and to deduce which is the stronger.

Doh! Of course it's to show the theoretical performance difference gpus. But it's pointless when no one that owns a $1000 cpu will have a $200 gpu. We need real world tests. I want see if upgrading will actually do something for me. Not will do something if I also buy a $1000 cpu.

You'd think a site could do well catering to the majority rather the small minority.
