The reason why they test the GPU with the most powerful CPU hardware available, is to make sure there is nothing hindering the performance of the GPU and to keep all other factors constant besides the GPU. That way they don't violate the law of the scientific method. You could ask that they do a "realistic gaming performance" review, but that is for another time. Of course it's to show the theoretical performance difference gpus. But it's pointless when no one that owns a $1000 cpu will have a $200 gpu. We need real world tests. I want see if upgrading will actually do something for me. Not will do something if I also buy a $1000 cpu.
