| | (Post a comment) » Postal 3 Officially AnnouncedIt's not exactly a huge shock but FiringSquad does have the official word directly from Running With Scissors head man Vince Desi that Postal 3, the next game in their controversial PC action game series, is in the works. According to what Desi told us today in a brief phone interview, the game will be developed for both the Xbox 360 and PC and will use Valve's Source engine as its basis (Postal 2 used Epic's Unreal Engine 2). Desi also told us that Running With Scissors is teaming up with Russia based Akella who will help Running With Scissors develop and publish the game. However, the game itself is still early in production; Desi told us that the game is currently targeted for a mid to late 2008 release.
Desi wouldn't reveal much about Postal 3's game play except that it will continue and expand upon Postal 2's open world design. Desi also told us that they will be taking fan feedback to heart for Portal 3. "A lot of things went undiscovered in Postal 2," Desi told us. In order to help players discover how much content there will be in Postal 3, the game will have what he is calling a series of training missions that will inform players on the many different options in the full open world portion of the game.
While we may have to wait a while for Postal 3's release, Desi did tell us that there will be some new Postal product coming down the pike this year. One is a music CD which will have songs inspired by the Postal series. The other is a new collection of all the previous Postal games called the Postal Fudge Pack which Desi told us will have a few new extras as well. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

| The first Postal is a classic, the second was quite ok but nothing special, I hope they don't screw P3 like they are going to screw the movie. I can't believe they let Uwe Boll direct Postal: The Movie...
