» More Wii Games From UbiSoft Coming

UbiSoft has already announced a whopping seven games for the launch of Nintendo's Wii console next month but in today's financial press release from the company UbiSoft has revealed that an additional seven Wii games will be released by March 2007. None of the games's titles were revealed but UbiSoft did say one of them will be for a "non announced new brand".

» just an idea for the squad
hey with all of the lag issues on titan mode could you guys at firingsquad try out a few rounds with a killernic in your system? not that i would go and toss out 250 to make bf2142 playable on titans, but i'm just kinda curious what kind of impact packet optimization and such would have on performance in a game whose netcode is coded so poorly. =)

The article above is about Ubisoft having up to 7 more games for the Wii by the end of the Fiscal year (14 in total) and every one is talking about Battlefield 2142??? IS there a problem i should know about???

» Gamers WAKE UP! In game tracking wont stop with BF2142
I gotta agree with Nemo1966. The implications of In Game Advertising (IGA) are so far reaching that the review should have started, and probably ended, with that. To not even mention it is irresponsible.

Regardless of if you think it is spyware or simply annoyware, and ignoring the fact that EA springs it on you AFTER you've broken the shrink wrap, the big story of BF2142 is the advertising engine. The potential fall out of IGA greatly exceeds the scope of BF2142 and it's merits as a game.

EA is a dominating force in the gaming industry, with control over a very large library of games. Now that they have the technology to track your movements for profit (and the scruples to implement it) you can bet that this program will be expanded to as many games as possible.

If you accept this now, we will all be being tracked by In Game Advertising long after the last copy of BF2142 has been moved from the bargain bin to the trash bin. All of you who care about gaming should be very concerned about this. See that light down there at the end of the tunnel? It aint the way out it's a freight train.

This is why a dual boot system with 2 installations of XP is the way to go. One for "work" and data with a firewall and one solely for gaming. Nothing for them to track on the gaming install and the gaming install remains free of all the excess software installs that can slow the PC down. Clean and mean. :)

I agree with you. I can't believe firingsquad did not mention this. Maybe they received a no adware version.

I'm definitevely not buying this game, but not only for the adware, but for the lack of respect EA has for it's customers, releasing unfinished games, disclaming it wouldn't add widescreen to their games :P

» BF2142
The review is flawed - no mention of the spyware/adaware contained in the game. For many users this is a big concern.

I sent mine back.... I dont care how good the game is, I refuse to allow the leeching a holes at EA use adaware in the game.... and worst tell me in a note after I have opened the wrapper.
