» it's not challenging enough
I would consider buying BC only if one of the following is true:

1. it was released a year ago
2. it gets a MAJOR graphic overhaul
3. it offers a NEW CLASS (not an old class from the opposite faction)
4. it creates a REAL casual player friendly environment (of course they are always "trying", but nowhere near hard enough, for some obvious reasons)

for what I know none of above is true so, nope, period.

CenirVI is absolutely right about the meaningless grinding for the sets.
In WoW, and most other MMORPGs, whoever invests more time, wins.
No matter how good you are, you can't hope to win somebody with superior gears.
In the early days I once dreamed of completing UBRS with just a team of 5 with regular gears and be proud of it. But after watching people duo it with epic sets it became a joke.
And if you happen to own some full epic characters you'll know the battleground is just a matter of noob nuking... which I found no fun in repeatedly doing so.
Wow has just reached 8 million subscribers, so I believe it does have something that still attract people. Not for me however. After 9 classes of lv60, countless of hours and everything the current game had to offer (dungeons, quests, hidden areas, gears, etc) It is just not my game anymore.

PvP in MMORPGs is for no-lifers with no skills. It's where the legions of losers-those-that-couldn't end up.

If you want real challenging PvP, look no further than the many FPS, RTS games or even GuildWars. MMORPG's PvP compared to these is a sick joke.

Another WOW article that totally misses the focus of Burning Crusade. One of the prime goals of BC was to enable a more dynamic well thought out PVP experience. PVE and grinding through dungeons got boring for most MMO gamers ages ago. A huge number of us play wow strictly for the excellent battleground PVP combat.

In Burning Crusade they are adding tons of new World PVP objectives, a new battle ground and the Arena PVP system. Each one of these feature is critical to making wow the best game ever made and the author of this article didnt even mention them.

PVE is for saps.

Thanks for the preview.

Hm... After reading a lot of BC previews around the net I still can't bring myself to pick WoW up again. Having played it quite extensively for about a year and a half since it's EU release I was all played out. It's true that Blizz is doing something right, the amount of subscribers certainly proves that. I did like the social aspect of it, the feeling of a perfectly orchestrated 40 man raid is an awesome experience. Come to think of it, I don't think that I've ever been part of, or seen a group of 40 people in real life coming together and doing something really constructive (extreme home makeover doesn't count :).

That however was not the norm. After lvl60 the grind sets in and I don't see it being any different with BC after lvl70. If there's ever a WoW II or if they do something really different with it in a future expansion, I'll check it out again, but right now I got Vanguard on preorder and Hellgate, although not a pure MMORPG isn't that far off either.
