» This performance test in dx10 is wrong for 2900xt
Hi guys!

This performance test for the radeon hd 2900xt is wrong!! Here in my computer, my FPS is the same in dx 9 and 10 with all settings in max in 1280x1024. The radeons with dx 10 suport have a bug that turn on vertical sync in dx 10, decreasing performance. Just turn off the vertical sync every time that restart the game and observe the increase of FPS! My computer is a athlon x2 5600 @ 3086, 4x1g ddr2 corsair xms2 800@900 dual channel, seagate sata II 320gb, mobo ecs ka3 extreme, sapphire hd 2900xt 512mb, on vista ultimate 32bits.

» Plz rerun all Highend DX9 Benchmarks
As you discovered with the mainstreamcards, your DX9 highendcards figures are also wrong (DX9/10 hybrid) So plz rerun these Benchmarks with a real DX9 OS like WinXP and you will wonder that 2900XT goes like hell.

» real resolution benchmarks
I would have liked to have seen benchmarks done at typical user resolutions, it's great to know an 8800gtx can run the game at 1600x1200 but what about normal resolutions? I have an LCD monitor that runs at 1280x1024 native and I suspect this is more representive of the population; how do today's cards handle typical resolutions?

cannot speak for everyone but with 20" to 22" growing increasingly cheaper i would suspect more ppl are gaming at 1600x1200 than you would like to believe

Not really any hard reason to switch over to DX10 cards for me yet. Other than soft and crisper shadows I am hard pressed to ditch my already working X1900XT 256 card.

No matter what I do, I cannot get my DX9 water to look that bad. My best guess is that's not using high quality graphics settings, or perhaps that video comes from the BioShock demo and it doesn't have the water of the final game, because my water definitely doesn't look that bad.
