I think it's the RPG elements, like SPECIAL, skills and Perks, that draws me in because I have always developed serious addictions to "Fallout" games. By comparison games like Oblivion weren't really more than mildly amusing. *deep sigh! The only reason why I don't have all the achievements for this game is that I never specialize in Charisma and I don't play an Evil character. ;)

Come on dude...its good to be bad. ;-)

I'm kind of with you, I have a hard time playing evil in any RPG.

Yes, it's an excellent game.

My only problem with it is that there's so much to pick up! Of course that's a personal problem more than anything to do with the game. After 20K caps you would think I could stop... Oooh look! a fork! Yoink!

I laugh just thinking about my character lugging around this huge bag full of bottle caps...

No, I don't actually pick up forks.... anymore...

This game is sick. Who honestly gives a shit if your Super Mutant buddy runs off or gets stuck on a rock and unable to follow you? He shows right back up at your next loading screen anyways, and it isn't like you need your NPC buddies help. I have not had anybody that followed me actually fall and die in a hole or anything dumb like that. Blowing peoples heads off or leaving them a pile of plasma is always fun. Lots of places to find and explore, lots to do, lots of missions. I can't complain. GOTY IMO.

Wait till you use a normal projectile weapon and literally explode people into tiny bits. Only problem with that is when I do it to too many people I have trouble figuring out which tiny bit belongs to who so I can loot their body :)

how can you criticize the game for using a cd check? that's pitiful, and it's NOT DRM

I agree. I also find it appalling that Left 4 Dead scored higher on this site (94%) than Fallout 3 (91%). In my opinion, Left 4 Dead was a short, repetitive game that I found uninteresting and worthy of no more than an 80%.

L4D is a multiplayer game, co-op and versus. Combination of FPS skills and teamwork. FO3 is not, but is great in it's own right and accomplished what it was the developers set out to do.

I absolutely love both games and agree with the FS scores.

Fallout 3 is, in my opinion, the game of the year.

Good review.
