| | Well i have had the HD555 sennheiser headphones for 4 years now and they are the most durable headphones i have owned, not to mention they sound great. I am not an audiophile so i don't know the difference between 5.1 and stereo, but i can't understand how it could sound any better, seems like a scam such as NIC cards, or mice from razer with 5000 dpi. » Login to reply to this trizzm (90) Apr 13, 2009 - 02:19 pm | Edited on Apr 13, 2009 - 02:20 pm
| yoda blues is right, and additionally 5.1 sets have a dedicated subwoofer, they emulate bass frequencies like it's not possible with a standard set. what's a scam is that you paid over 200$ for your hd555 while it cost sennheiser about 20$ to design and manufacture per pair.
the audiophile pansies are the ones to blame in this situation; because of their sheer ignorance and elitism the 5.1 headphone market fails to take off because you always have some "audiophile" bashing the very existence of surround headphones while at the same time recommending overpriced and overrated sennheiser crap.
I'm an audio technician and I wouldn't exchange my turtle beach's against ANY sennheiser set, no matter how much you'd pay me to do so.» Login to reply to this |

| seems expensive, it's main competitor, the turtle beach hpa2, is only 100$. from reading this review I wouldn't think that the tritton set is much better.
I found a good comparison between these and the HPA2. type "AX pro 5.1 VS hpa2" in google, it's on the bollywoodsargam website.» Login to reply to this |
