I like their offerings and I'm glad to see S3 back in the game - the
Delta Chrome S8/S8 Nitro sounds very interesting! If the price can
be kept around $150 that would be great for the low budget pc gamer
- the basic specs 0f the S8(8 pixel pipes, 8 pixel shaders, and 4
vertex shaders WOW!!) have already got the 9600 pro beat. I've
decided to put off buying a new card until I see some thorough
benchmarks on the S8 and even the new XGI Volari Gpu - hopefully the
added competition with drive the prices down a bit.

I had a Kyro II for about a week or so. It was a good card, but I
bought it late and the new games at the time didn't play well on it.
ie: B&W, Max Payne ect. It really only played well on older
games. Also, when XP was released the drivers where quite flaky
causing a lot of infinite loop errors.

underdogs do sell well occasionally, look at the kyro II, it was a
fantastic card and even made nvidia pull the plug on Hercules for
'daring' to sell them. hopefully s3 can make money from it.

If it works better than nvidia in dx9 then it will probably sell.
driver quality will be the clincher for most people.

Everything I've read says they should be on sale soon. There are
tons of ads for XGI on Anandtech. So yeah, what's going on? Go get
the scoop FS.

Little hard not to be skeptical considering S3's ongoing track
record.
