This heritage was first established in the motherboard market, but soon found its way into ASUS' line of NVIDIA-based video cards. Now ASUS is poised to bring new levels of innovation and performance to the ATI line of VPUs, the RADEON 9800 XT/TVD and RADEON 9600 XT/TVD are among their first offerings and offer features present nowhere else. See what ASUS does to separate themselves from the rest of the pack, and, for you flight sim fans, you won't want to miss our brand new benchmarks with Lock On: Modern Air Combat! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I'd like too see benchmarks of the ASUS 9600XT and the Nvidia 5900SE
cards, both OC and stock. And is the VIVO enough to give the slower
9600 with a 90% rating an Editor's Choice when the 90% 5900SE is so
much faster?

1. You used Lock-On Modern Air Combat....you say its OpenGL...
Its not,
2. The game has issues that have yet to be resolved via patch, is it
not true that you shouldn't use a game in benchmark testing that has
flaws to be fixed
3. try running the benchmark in A10 campaign, I can tell you that
you'll get 20FPS, because the game has issues that need to be fixed,
4. you also didn't say what in game settings you used, (I know it
wasn't maxed because that would be single digits)
5. at the moment if you want to play the game at reasonable fps you
have to use config hacks within the game engine and that is at
medium. low settings
6. I have a A643000+/9800XT and I can't get anywhere near those
frame rates in A-10 campaign,
7. reply to this as we (The Lomac community) would all love to hear
how you get those fps

I have the same problem, except it's reporting red for my AGP VDDQ
voltage. The preset limits in SmartDoctor say my VDDQ should be
around 3.3 volts, give or take. Actual tests show that my VDDQ
voltage performs closer to 1.6. At first I thought it was a weak
power supply, but then I bought a ThermalTake 420 watt and it still
reports as being in the red.
My 9600XT is running in AGP 4x mode, and according to what I've read
the AGP VDDQ voltage is -supposed- to be around 1.6 volts on AGP 4x
mode.
The best I can figure is that it's a bug of some kind. I haven't
had any major stability issues. If the card works okay for you, I
wouldn't worry about it.

I have had a ASUS 9800xt, and after the initail smartdoctor update
things good alot better, they were slightly buggy before. AT the
moment the card is execptional as more sofware updates arrive
through asus things im sure will only get better.
